WWE TLC Predictions
Tonight is one of WWE most anticipated gimmick PPVs of the year. Although I’m not a fan of gimmick PPV’s because I think matches such as TLC and Hell in a Cell should be booked as surprise to blow off feuds, it doesnt take away that this show has the potential to be exceptionally good. TLC is a Smackdown exclusive PPV. Although there was only 2 weeks to build up this event since they just came off Survivor Series which featured both brands, Smackdown did the best job they could do to promote the event in such little time. I’m really late with these predictions, so they’re going to be short and straight to the point. Lets get to my predictions.
Ladder Match
Intercontinental Championship
The Miz (C) w/ Maryse vs. Dolph Ziggler

This match has the potential to steal the show. Ive spoken countless times on how I think these two have great chemistry with each other and it might have to do with the fact that they are friends inside and outside of the ring. I wasn’t a fan of Ziggler losing the title the Smackdown before Survivor Series but it is what it is. However, I don’t want to see the two of them play hot potato with Intercontinental Championship. As much as I want Ziggler to get that title back, I think the Miz will find the cowardly way to win.
Prediction – The Miz
No DQ Match
Nikki Bella vs. Carmella

Nikki Bella may have returned from career threatening injury, been the longest reigning Divas Champion and is a reality TV show superstar, which easily makes you think the WWE would like to protect her and have her going over. However, Nikki Bella doesn’t need this win but Carmella does. I know it seems right that Nikki Bella wins in a No DQ match, ending her rivalry with Carmella but I think Carmella should win proving herself not only to Nikki Bella but to the other girls in the back and the fans. This a huge milestone for the Smackdown Women’s roster getting not one but two gimmick matches on this card. I say Carmella gets the win here. Nikki Bella winning does nothing for either woman but might just be a feel good moment.
Prediction – Carmella
Chairs Match
Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin

I don’t really care much for Baron Corbin but this current storyline similar to his “I hate indy guys” storyline in his final days in NXT, is interesting. I think Kalisto will do Lucha things with the chairs and Corbin will be absolutely brutal with the chairs. I am 100% sure Corbin is going to win and continue the beat down on Kalisto, causing Daniel Bryan and officials to come out to stop the beating. This would give Corbin tremendous heat and put him even more on managements bad side. Although, how fucking funny would it be if Kalisto won by doing Lucha things.
Prediction – Baron Corbin
Tag Team Championship
Heath Slater & Rhyno (C) vs. Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton

The only thing that makes me think I’m wrong about my prediction is that Randy and his wife Kim just had a baby and there are rumours stirring that Randall might take time off. However, this whole joining the Wyatt Family storyline has been one of the most under-appreciated stories on the blue brand. I mean Orton could finally turn on Wyatt tonight but I feel like it would be too early and they’d be rushing this beautiful thing they have going. This also has me wondering what happens to Rhyno and Slater if they do lose the belts. I’d say they would win the tag titles back in their tag match due to miscommunication between Orton, Harper and Wyatt. Orton and Wyatt as tag champions for even a brief moment would make them seem more dominant than ever, and we should feel that before they start crumbling down or Orton’s true intentions show. Regardless of what happens next or how it goes down, I’m rooting for the New Wyatt Family. Rhyno and Slater will continue to tag and stay relevant in the Smackdown tag team division but Orton and Wyatt reign supreme for the next couple of weeks. Maybe American Alpha will take the straps off them on Smackdown during a moment tension between the two.
Prediction – The New Wyatt’s
Tables Match
Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (C) vs. Alexa Bliss

This match should be really good. It may not be a ladder match, TLC match or even a Hell in a Cell match or even a first ever women’s table’s match but it is significant for the Smackdown’s women division to be getting this opportunity.Personally, I would have preferred a ladder match between the two rivals. I do think sometime in 2017 we could see Alexa Bliss as the Womens Champion but I don’t think she’ll walk out of TLC as the champion. Smackdown needs to built prestige in that Women’s title and unlike most titles in the WWE today that means she needs to hold that title and continue defending successfully that when somebody finally does defeat her it means something. I say Becky holds the Women’s Championship until Wrestlemania. I have been loving this Alexa/Becky feud and I would love to see it continue for one more PPV. I could be wrong and the next progressive step might be Alexa defeating Becky Lynch, but I’m going to stick with my gut and say the Irish Lasskicker retains.
Prediction – Becky Lynch
Tables, Ladders & Chairs
WWE Championship
AJ Styles (C) vs. Dean Ambrose

I’m a fan of both guys and they have amazing chemistry with one another. They’re gonna tear the house down in this TLC match. This match also has the potential of being the show stealer, and why shouldn’t it be? It is the main event. We have seen Ambrose and Styles put on great matches in regular singles matches and I can’t fathom to think of what they could do in a TLC environment. I know Ambrose doesnt fear getting extreme and neither does the Phenomenal One. I think we have a lot to look forward to in this match. There will be tons of suspense and drama. Hell, we might even get a James Ellsworth appearance which I could care less for but would add a spot in this match. I just hope he doesn’t play a huge factor in who wins this match. I think Styles continues his role as the face who runs the place on Smackdown. I’m going to go with my original idea that The Undertaker shows up and causes Ambrose the match similar to how Ambrose’s little Shield reunion at Survivor Series almost caused Team Smackdown the victory last month. A short Undertaker vs. Ambrose feud wouldn’t hurt. Regardless, the match will be amazing and definitely have some highlight reel moments but I see Styles walking out, still your WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Dig It?
Prediction – AJ Styles
