NJPW Best of Super Juniors Day 9 Review
Another solid line up of tournament matches here I expect this to be pretty enjoyable so let’s get started.
El Desperado vs ACH
This match was pretty solid. It was a lot of storytelling with Desperado attacking the greatest weapon in ACH’s arsenal, his legs. He was physically hindered by Desperado’s attacks but was still able to take home the victory. At the moment this
puts him in a three way tie for first place with 6 points.
Match Rating: ***1/2
Volador Jr. vs BUSHI
This was an important match for BUSHI because if he lost he would be mathematically eliminated from the tournament. This match was very good as I was expecting because BUSHI is pretty good and Volador was on his game. BUSHI was able to snag the victory and stay in the tournament.
Match Rating: ***3/4
Tiger Mask vs Ryusuke Taguchi
At the time I was watching this is was very late and I was not in the mood for Taguchi’s antics and guess what? He turned that shit up to 100 so my enjoyment of this match is very low. I am a fan of Taguchi but at the time I wasn’t feeling it. That being said this match wasn’t that good, even when they got serious it wasn’t my deal. Taguchi takes the win, making it a 4 way tie for first with Kanemaru, Desperado, and ACH

KUSHIDA vs Yoshinobu Kanemaru
This match was phenomenal and really showed great storytelling. KUSHIDA was also on the chopping block if he didn’t win here and Suzuki-Gun threw everything at him to make sure he was eliminated. From interference from Taichi and TAKA to whiskey bottle shots from Kanemaru they did everything but at the end KUSHIDA prevailed and stayed in the tournament. KUSHIDA was at the top of his game here and it showed in a great match. Kanemaru held his own too.
