In what many say is arguably the greatest match of all-time, Hulk
Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania VI! Title for Title,
Hero vs. Hero. No bad guys here, just two larger than life figures
going head to head on the grandest stage of them all, WRESTLEMANIA!

This matchup was truly the Ultimate Challenge; The present versus in
what many thought at that time, wrestling’s future! The build-up to
this main event dated back to the WWE Royal Rumble 1990. Both men
throwing their respective opponents over the top rope, before
realizing that they were the only two men left in the ring standing
alone giving us the moment we all thought could only be a dream. As
the crowd loses their mind in the Amway/Orlando Arena, the two larger
than life superstars gave us the encounter of a lifetime. Both men
showing equal shades of strength and speed, the two fan favorites gave
only a glimpse of what was to come at WrestleMania.

No one thought these two would ever go head to head, two top fan
favorites going one on one on the grand stage for the first time in
history! This paved the way for the future of having (two) TOP fan
favorite superstars go head to head in the New Generation, Bret Hart
vs. Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 12; and the Attitude Era, The Rock
vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 17!

The contract signing between both champions was jaw dropping. You
could cut the tension with a knife. Both men spoke their respective
peace, and both contracts were signed. It was finally about to happen,
OFFICIALLY. With over 67,000 plus fans with goosebumps in attendance
at the Toronto Sky Dome, the stage was officially set. The Clash of
The Titans, The Irresistable Force vs. The Un-Movable Object, THE
ULTIMATE CHALLENGE!

A pound for pound 5 Star match. No interferences, no excuses, just two
titans duking it out to find out who really is the very best in Sports
Entertainment. The fans were 50/50 the whole way. NOT ONE BOO from
67,000 plus. This was literally the match of the Hero. Hogan and
Warrior were neck and neck the whole way. No one really grasp an upper
hand on the other, a straight juggernaut! In my humble opinion, the
greatest match in Sports Entertainment HISTORY. The match was 22:51sec
of straight electricity and excitement. Pound for pound, move for
move. Great story telling with a great finish.

In the final minute with Hogan missing the leg drop, the stadium was
in total shock; and The Warrior capitalized with the big splash and
the Sky Dome went nuts! ONE – TWO – THREE! The WWE Universe went
ballistic and blew the roof off of the Toronto Sky Dome! With Hulk
Hogan personally handing in what was his WWE World Heavyweight
Championship Belt to The Ultimate Warrior; the world new that the
torch had been past, and that we were officially in a new era as we
had entered the next decade of the 90’s!

Hulk Hogan had been the face of the WWE and WrestleMania (in
particular) for the entire decade of the 80’s. With Hogan showing this
act of class in willingly passing the torch, this act of heroism made
everyone believe in Hulkamania (including Jesse The Body Ventura) and
that Hulkamania will indeed live forever!
