In Ring Segment: Seth Rollins
Rollins brings up last weeks and says how he told everyone that every man was gonna go in the Rumble and give it their all and how he said he would win because of his heart. He says that’s was tonight he gets to stand here and say that Seth Fricken’ Rollins is going to WrestleMania. Rollins says he promised himself that if he won the Royal Rumble he was not gonna do it but it’s a once in a lifetime shot and Rollins points at the WrestleMania sign. Rollins says all he ever wanted to do was point at that sign and main event WrestleMania. He saying winning the Rumble was only the beginning. He says could go to SmackDown and challenge his friend Daniel Bryan or he could go to Suplex City and challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. He says it is going to be a very difficult decision and one he is gonna have to take some time to think about. Out comes Triple H.
Triple H says he is glad Rollins pointed at the sign because he knows it’s his dream. He says he knows that dream because that was his dream. He says he saw that in Rollins and that is why he challenged him and he stepped up to that challenge. He says the Rumble was designed to test the limits of the superstars to let them go until there was only one. He says last night we found out who the one is. That one is Seth Fricken’ Rollins. Triple He says he knows how he has to make a decision of who he is gonna Burn Down at WrestleMania much like Becky Lynch. He says Becky will make her decision tomorrow night but Rollins must make his tonight. He says he knows how fast the machine move so he has to know. He says he has to know by tonight because Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar will both be here and he needs Rollins to tell him who’s ass he is gonna kick at WrestleMania. Rollins says it’s gonna be a hard decision. Out comes Dean Ambrose.
Ambrose says this father stuff between Rollins and Triple H makes him sick. He reminds Rollins that he always believed in him even when Triple H didn’t. Triple H questions Ambrose and reminds him he stabbed his brother in his back. Ambrose says this doesn’t concern him. Triple H says everything in this ring concerns him. Ambrose tells Rollins he changed and he is a pure kiss ass. Ambrose says he hopes he goes on to beat Lesnar or Bryan but reminds Rollins he hasn’t been able to beat him. He then tells Triple H to make this match. Triple H goes to leave and Ambrose asks him if he has to ask permission from his Father-In-Law first. Triple H says get me a referee right now.
My Opinion:
This was a good way to start off the night. Rollins needs this huge push and backing from Triple H again could be perfect since it worked so well before. Rollins now has his opportunity to be the guy and he just has to run with it. Hopefully, over the next few months, Rollins will be able to capitalize on the momentum and go into Mania as the favorite.
Match 1: Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins
Rollins takes it to Ambrose in the corner to start off the match. Rollins is able to hammer down Ambrose and then is able to land a huge kick to the chest of Ambrose. Ambrose has to roll out of the ring for a breather. Rollins doesn’t slow down and drives him into the barricade. Rollins goes to the outside and once more drives him into the barricade. Rollins continues the fight on the outside and comes over the barricade to take down Ambrose once more. Back in the ring Ambrose gets back in control and starts to wear down Rollins with big right hands. Ambrose then lands vicious kicks to Rollins. Rollins comes back with a huge kick to the jaw of Ambrose. Rollins lands a big kick but once again Ambrose rolls to the apron. Rollins lands another kick and then lifts Ambrose. Ambrose tries a submission and looks to wear Rollins down. Ambrose sends Rollins off the ropes and lands a huge knee strike. Ambrose continues to wear down Rollins but Rollins lands a kick in the corner and sends him to the outside. Rollins looks for the suicide dive but is caught with a right hand. Rollins tries a sling blade but Ambrose plants him. Ambrose goes for the cover but Rollins kicks out as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Ambrose hammers on Rollins on the second turnbuckle. Rollins fights him off and hits him with a cross body. Rollins hits him with big right hands and then off the ropes, he hits the sling blade. On the outside, Rollins hits a suicide dive and drives him into the barricade. Rollins once again takes him down on the outside. Back in the ring, Ambrose counters Rollins but Rollins is able to land an enziguri. Another suicide dive on the outside and Rollins is in control. Rollins misses on a splash and Ambrose tries to cover him but Rollins kicks out at two. Rollins is able to hit him with a knee and then lands a buckle bomb followed by a kick. Rollins then hits the stomp. Rollins goes for the cover and gets the 1 2 3.
Winner: Seth Rollins
My Opinion:
This was a huge win for Rollins tonight! He needed this and this is exactly the kind of wins he needs to pick up on The Road To WrestleMania. Rollins looked confident and he was in control pretty much the whole match. Rollins looks like he is on a different level and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I do hope though they will find a good spot for Ambrose as well once WrestleMania gets closer.
Match 2: Nia Jax & Tamina vs Alexa Bliss & Mickie James
Winner advances to the Elimination Chamber
Bliss pushes Tamina but Tamina quickly overpowers her. She continues to beat on Bliss but Bliss is able to counter and rolls through to hit standing knees. Tamina gets back in control and brings Bliss to her corner. Jax gets the tag and drives Bliss into the corner knocking James to the floor as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Tamina continues to work Bliss. Bliss continues to fight and trie a cover but Tamina kicks out. Once again Jax gets the tag and hits Bliss with a headbutt. Jax then uses the ropes to choke Bliss. Jax then drives her body into Bliss. Jax stays on Bliss and works a submission on the mat. Jax drives Bliss into the corner and in comes Tamina. Tamina knocks down Bliss. Bliss fights back and works one more pin but Tamina still kicks out. Bliss fights off Tamina and grabs her hair. Bliss makes the tag and James comes in hot with a big kick. James takes down Tamina and unloads with big right hands. James lands a hurricanranna and takes down Tamina. James lands a neck breaker and goes for the cover but Tamina kicks out. Jax comes in and throws James to the mat. Bliss goes up top but is caught and put on top of James. Jax lands a double Samoan Drop and she gets the 1 2 3 on the cover.
Winners: Tamina & Nia Jax: Going to The Elimination Chamber
My Opinion:
Huge victory for Nia Jax and Tamina. Right now Jax and Tamina look like they will be the favorite to win. They are both very powerful and in something like the Elimination Chamber, it’s gonna be tough to beat them. As much as I am not the biggest fan of Nia Jax, she is doing big things right now and if they ride that momentum they have a good shot to win.
Match 3: Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin
Angle starts off the match hot coming at Corbin and hitting him with a German Suplex. Corbin gets back into it with a clothesline but Angle kicks out of the cover. Corbin continues to stay on Angle hits him with kicks and knees. Angle gets knocked down to the mat and Corbin hits him with a huge forearm strike. Corbin hits with a 12/6 elbow on the shoulder and then works a modified chin lock. Corbin lands another knee and then sends Angle into the corner. Angle fights out and is able to land a series of suplexes. Angle goes for the cover but Corbin kicks out. Corbin drops Angle again and goes for the cover but Angle kicks out. Angle weathers the course and hits Corbin with an Angle Salm but it’s not enough to put away Corbin. Angle is able to lock in the Anklelock. Corbin fights out and hits Deep 6. Corbin goes for the cover and gets the 1 2 3.
Winner: Baron Corbin
My Opinion:This was really odd to me, although cool to see Angle in the ring what are they doing to him having him lose to Corbin? Angle is a Hall Of Famer and should be used on big shows for big situations and instead here he is losing to Corbin on Raw. this is hurtful to Angle’s credibility and it doesn’t look good. Now if they try to use Angle at Mania for a big match how much will it actually mean?
In Ring Segment: Finn Balor
Balor says last night for ten minutes he went toe to toe with Brock Lesnar. He says e makes no excuses and Brock Lesnar beat him and then beat him again. Balor says he’s never felt speed like it or power like it and he hasn’t seen it combined. He says today he is hurt but he’s not standing out here with his head hung low. He is standing out here with his head held high because last night Brock Lesnar beat him and beat him again because he made Brock Lesnar believe. Out comes Bobby Lashley.
Rush tells Balor it is a disgrace that someone like him got a shot at the Universal Championship. Rush tells him he almost beat Lesnar but he wouldn’t stand a chance against Bobby Lashley. He says Bobby is bigger, faster, and stronger than Lesnar will ever be. He tells Balor what happened last night is nothing compared to what Lashley would do. Balor tells him he lasted longer than Lashley did int he Rumble. Lashley then attacks Balor. My Opinion:
I wouldn’t mind a feud between Lashley and Balor starting. I think they should put the IC Title on Balor and I really think he’d be a great champion. If you put the title on Balor you could definitely start a great feud for him heading into WrestleMania. They need something with Balor, they pushed him and he got over and this isn’t the time to give up now. I think this year will tell a lot in the future of Finn Balor in WWE.
Match 4: The Revival vs Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder
Hawkins hammers on Wilder and backs him in the corner. Ryder gets the tag and he comes in hot. They take it to Wilder and to Dawsons ending them to the outside. Ryder hits them with double boots and gets back in the ring. Dawson gets back in control and he and Wilder double team Ryder. Dawson goes for the cover but Ryder kicks out. Wilder gets the tag and comes in and gets dropped on Ryder. Wilder goes for the cover but Ryder kicks out. Wilder lands a hip check and stays on Ryder. Ryder gets to his feet and is able to hit a neck breaker. Hawkins gets the tag and he unloads on The Revival. Hawkins lands a series of dropkicks and then catches Dawson with an enziguri. Wilder gets the tag after Dawson gets back in control. They hit The Shatter Machine and Wilder gets the 1 2 3.
Winners: The Revival
My Opinion:
I really like seeing Ryder and Hawkins back together but its a shame they probably won’t ever do anything since they’re still so stuck on Hawkins losing. I feel like this team really could get over but time will tell if they ever get a win. At least they had a chance tonight but ultimately The Revival put them in their place.
Backstage Segment:
Charly asks Daniel Bryan if he has what it takes to beat Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. He questions her and tells her that he would’ve beat AJ Styles no matter what. Bryan says if Rollins chooses him he is not gonna wait til Mania and instead he will end all of Seth Rollins WrestleMania hopes tonight.
In Ring Segment: Elias
Elias talks about how everyone should be cheering wildly for him, he says they are in the presence of Elias so they are are in the presence of greatness. Elias tells the crowd he is no longer writing songs for them but instead for him. Out comes Jeff Jarrett.
Jarett tells him to listen up and says do you really think you were gonna come out here after cracking me with a guitar? He tells Elias to not worry about having a problem with the people because he has a problem with him. Out comes Road Dogg. Road Dogg questions Elias and tells Elias tells him to play with himself on his own time. He tells him if he’s not down with that they got two words for him. Road Dogg says as for him and Jeff they wanna sing for everybody. Elias hits Road Dogg with the guitar and then goes after Jarrett but Jarrett fights back and knocks Elias to the mat. Elias hits him with a low blow and then hits him with another guitar.
My Opinion:
This would be a great rivalry for Elias if this could continue on. Jarrett would be a great guy to put over Elias and there is so much he can learn from him. The only question will be if Jarrett will continue to stay around but it does look like he’s had fun the past two nights.
Backstage Segment:
Dana tells Natalya she is not gonna let her down. Natalya tells her to try their hardest to win. Dana tells her she is better than Ember and her. Dana then asks if she is coming. Natalya says let’s go.
Match 5: Dana Brooke & Natalya vs Sarah Logan & Liv Morgan
Winner advances to the Elimination Chamber
Natalya takes control early and works Logan to the corner. Brooke gets the tag and works Logan but she fights out and is able to tag Morgan. On the outside, Brooke hits a clothesline sending Morgan into the ring. Logan gets back into the match and takes it to both Brooke and Natalya. Morgan gets the tag and they double team, Brooke. Morgan goes for the cover but Brooke kicks out. Morgan stays on Brooke and toys with her. Brooke is able to take down Morgan and tag Natalya. Natalya takes it to both members and then flips Morgan. Natalya is able to work the sharpshooter but Brooke is thrown into Natalya by Logan. Morgan works the cover and gets the 1 2 3.
Winners: Sarah Logan & Liv Morgan
My Opinion:
Ever since the Women’s Tag Team Titles were announced this was one of the first teams that came to mind when it came to who would win them. Logan and Morgan have proven they can get the job done and tonight was no different. Under the leadership of Ruby Riott these tows could win the titles, it’ll be tough with the team of Jax and Tamina already in but if they can pull off some Riott Squad magic they could have a real shot at this.
In Ring Segment: Ronda Rousey
Rousey says if you can’t dream big ridiculous dreams than what’s the use of dreaming at all. She says last year she stepped into the ring for the Women’s Royal Rumble and sh dreamed ridiculously big and now she stands her as the Women’s Champion. She says last night Sasha gave her the fight of her life and she has more passion and desire than any women she has ever faced. She then thanks, Sasha. Rousey gets stuck on her words and out comes Bayley.
Bayley says she isn’t Becky Lynch but she is one half of the Boss & Hug Connection. Bayley says she is out here for a fight and tells Ronda to put that title on the line and they have a match right here tonight in Pheniox.
Match 6: Ronda Rousey (c) vs Bayley
Raw Women’s Championship
Rousey flips Bayley and then works her on the mat with submission wrestling. Bayley hits Rousey in the back and goes on the attack of the right arm of Rousey. Rousey works Bayley to the ropes and works an armbar with the use of the ropes. Rousey though gets hung up on the second rope by Bayley. Bayley goes for the cover but gets a two count on the cover. Rousey tweaks her knee and Bayley takes advantage. Bayley then hits a dragon screw and Rousey goes to the outside as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Bayley goes to work on the leg of Rousey. In the corner, Bayley hits Rousey with a right hand. Rousey fights back but Bayley continues to wear her down. Rousey fights back and flips Bayley. Rousey though hurts herself more in the process. Rousey knocks down Bayley and then explodes out of the corner and to further damage her. Bayley catches Rousey and gets her in a kneebar. Rousey fights out and rolls under the bottom rope bringing her and Bayley to the floor. Bayley takes a huge risk and drives Rousey into the barricade. Bayley is in control as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Bayley stays on Ronda. Ronda is brought back in the ring and Bayley flies hitting the elbow. Bayley then locks in the Banks Statement. Rousey though is able to get to the ropes. Bayley puts Rousey on the top rope but Rousey counters. Rousey is able to flip Bayley off the top rope to the mat. Rousey works a submission and Bayley taps.
*** After the match out comes Becky Lynch! Becky says looks at this The Man is back on Raw. She tells Ronda she told her she would find her way back again. Lynch reminds Rousey that last time she was on Raw she dropped her and even after that Rousey never came looking for her to prove she is the worst. Lynch says she came here to prove she isn’t. Lynch reminds Rousey she won the Royal Rumble Match last night but unlike Rollins, she doesn’t need a lot of time to think. She tells Rousey she chooses her. She says at WrestleMania she is gonna break her mystic, take her title, and kick her as in front of the whole world. Rousey grabs the mic and asks how her leg is. Rousey tells Lynch she wants to beat the best version of Becky Lynch that ever existed. Rousey tells Lynch she can re-break her fac faster than she can say, Nia Jax. Rousey says she could kill her with her bare hands without even breaking a sweat. Rousey says when Lynch was training she was main eventing for a sport that didn’t even want women. Rousey tells lynch she is gonna beat her at Mania.
Winner: Ronda Rousey: Still Raw Women’s Champion
My Opinion:
A gutsy win for Rousey tonight, Bayley took her to the limit but Rousey is one of those competitors that only needs one move to change the game. Bayley looked to have this until Rousey flipped her off the top rope. Rousey won tonight but now she has a huge obstacle in Becky Lynch. This easily could be the rivalry of the year and I cannot wait to see this unfold!
Backstage Segment:
Braun tells Rollins that he earned it last night. He tells Rollins to make it count at WrestleMania.
Match 7: Braun Strowman vs Drew Mcintyre
The two lock up and Strowman overpowers him. Mcintyre works a side headlock but can’t move Strowman. Strowman stays on him but Mcintrye continues to try to fire back with right hands. Strowman though stays in control and sends Mcintyre to the floor. Mcintyre is able to send Strowman crashing into the barricade as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Strowman is able to create separation with a side slam. Strowman crushes Mcintyre in the corner. Mcintyre is sent to the outside but he is able to take advantage and send him into the ring post. Strowman tries to fight back but instead is attacked from behind by Corbin. Corbin unloads with a steel chair. Strowman is able to fight back and is able to take down Corbin. He then drives Mcintyre into the barricade. Strowman once again then goes after Corbin. Strowman then bounces Corbin off the steps. Mcintyre comes through and takes down Strowman. Corbin gets back up and assists with a chokeslam to Strowman on the steps.
Winner: Brun Strowman: Via DQ
My Opinion:
Strowman looked good tonight but once again he gets laid out. It sucks for Strowman because he’s had the chance to be so good but they keep holding him down. Maybe a rivalry with Strowman and Mcintyre can build him back up and show he still can be unstoppable. The problem with what they’re doing with Braun is making him look too human. This man has taken so much more damage and gotten back up and now he just takes it. Hopefully, next week he’ll be back with a vengeance.
In Ring Segment: Seth Rollins WrestleMania Decision
Heyman brings up the Royal Rumble and tells how Rollins could go on with Lesnar and put on a good sports entertainment match because the last thing they wanna do is get in a fight with Brock Lesnar. Heyman continues you on about WrestleMania being Lesnar’s house but out comes Seth Rollins.
Rollins goes right after Lesnar. He takes him down with a kick but he’s picked out of mid-air and Brock hits him with an F5. Lesnar then hits him with another. Lesnar continues the assault and lays out Rollins with a fourth F5. he finishes him off with one more on the title. Rollins taunts him and Lesnar goes back after him.
My Opinion:
Wow, Lesnar made a statement tonight and Rollins better watch out. This was a fired up Lesnar and if Rollins has any chance he better be ready for a fight. Lesnar showed he is not afraid and he doesn’t respect Rollins. The Road To WrestleMania won’t be easy but Rollins has to fight and show he is the guy now.
Final Thoughts:
This was a pretty decent Raw tonight, first, it was awesome to see Becky Lynch on Raw and having her step to Rousey. I can’t wait to see these two go at it and I know they will deliver. This gonna be one heck of a build up over the next couple of months. It was also awesome seeing guys like Jeff Jarrett, Road Dogg, and Kurt Angle tonight. I think it’s awesome when they incorporate legends on Raw and they make meaningful moments. Even though Angle lost his match it was still so cool to see him. Finally, I enjoyed the ending of Raw tonight. Rollins has to be the guy who rises up and defeats Lesnar. Lesnar showed tonight he is not gonna back down but for Rollins, this is a good position cause he can go nowhere but up. The Road To WrestleMania is heating up and I can’t wait to watch everything unfold! Overall Rating: 6/10
