RAW REVIEW 03/09/2020
Tonight is the Fall-Out Edition of Monday Night Raw following last night’s Elimination Chamber PPV! How will Becky Lynch respond to Shayna Baszler dominating and winning the Elimination Chamber Match, and officially becoming the #1 Contender for her Raw Women’s Championships? Plus, what will be next in the rivalry between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens? Also, what will be next in the feud between AJ Styles and The Undertaker after Taker saved Aleister Black from Gallows and Anderson and laid out Styles giving Black the win? Finally, in his highly anticipated return to Raw what will Edge say or do to Randy Orton after Orton tried to end his wrestling career following his epic comeback, attacking his friend Matt Hardy, and attacking his wife Beth Phoenix?
Raw comes to us from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
Raw kicks off with us being welcomed by Jerry “The King” Lawler and Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton. We are then shown the backstage area as we await Edge’s arrival tonight!
In-Ring Segment: Becky Lynch
Becky tells the crowd the man has come around. She then says the joking around is over and she finally knows who her WrestleMania opponent is, the cage fighter, Shayna Baszler. She then shows the footage from the Elimination Chamber Match last night. Becky tells how Shayna Baszler cut through the field last night and even cut down the person she spent her entire career trying to beat in a matter of minutes. Becky then goes on to say Baszler is a scumbag. She then tells that she may be a bitch but she is the bitch that runs this division. She says she may have recognized Shayna as the constipated looking robot from NXT but says she remembers Baszler wouldn’t shake her hand after last WrestleMania. She then brings up how she beat Ronda Rousey and tells how normal people like her don’t be trained killers but she did and she’ll do it again. Becky says she believes in her bones Shayna is discounting her and she’s gonna smash her face in for it.
My Opinion:
Lynch kept this pretty cut and dry but the point was made that she is ready for Shayna. Lynch already knows what it’s like to beat someone with the skill and style of Baszler so that gives her a good advantage. Baszler has never really stepped in the ring with someone like Lynch so it’ll be interesting to see how she responds. Lynch definitely is showing a ton of confidence and for Baszler I think she’ll have to attack Lynch and get in her head in order to shake her and give herself an edge. Either way, it seems both are coming for a fight and I’d imagine this will be a great one because of the physicality these two can bring.
Backstage Segment: Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio heads to the ring to take on the man who injured him and put him out of action for a month, Angel Garza!
Match 1: Rey Mysterio vs Angel Garza w/ Zelina Vega
Mysterio goes after Garza but Garza is able to shove him into the corner. Mysterio is able to fight back and take down Garza. Mysterio stays in control and is able to work away from Garza. Garza comes back and looks for a powerbomb but the move doesn’t work well as Mysterio lands awkwardly. Garza stays on the attack and is able to land a big kick in the corner. Garza then hits a dropkick and sends Mysterio to the outside. Garza gloats as he takes off his pants as he stands tall in the ring.
Garza goes to the outside and brings Mysterio back in the ring. He gets him under the ropes and launches Mysterio’s neck into them. He then launches Mysterio neck first into the second turnbuckle in the corner. Garza grabs the arm of Mysterio and then stomps away on him as he’s down on the mat. The ref backs off Garza as Mysterio recovers in the corner. Garza doesn’t listen and hits a big knee. He places Mysterio up top and meets him up there. Mysterio is able to knock him down but Garza gets back in it and hangs up Mysterio. He stays on the offense and works a side headlock. Garza lets go of the move but stays on Mysterio continuing to work his neck.
Garza then launches up Mysterio and kicks him in the chest. Garza then attempts a 619 but Mysterio jumps up and knocks him down with a big kick. Mysterio hits him with a right. Garza then pushes him off the ropes. Mysterio fights back and sends him to the outside. He then slides under the bottom rope to land the splash on Garza who is down on the floor. In the ring, Mysterio lands a seated senton. He then is able to land an enziguri. He covers but only gets a 2 count. Mysterio then flies off the middle rope but he gets caught. Garza then lifts Mysterio and hits a reverse suplex off the springboard from the rope. Mysterio somehow stays in the match. He hits an enziguri and goes for a 619. Garza is able to fight it off as he ducks, he then hits a big superkick. Garza looks for the Wing Clipper but Mysterio fights out of it. Mysterio now up top continues to punch Garza before hitting him with headbutts. Mysterio sends him to the mat. He looks for the destroyer but he is caught. Mysterio fights him off and sets him up for the 619. He connects and then drops the dime, he covers for the 1 2 3.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
My Opinion:
A solid match between these two and a much-needed win for Mysterio as he was searching for revenge. Garza showed a lot of skill in that match and at times seemed to have Mysterio’s number but his showing off caught up to him and he didn’t finish the job when he could have. I wouldn’t be shocked to see these two go at it again and I’d be excited to see it again. Between these two, Carrillo, and Andrade their matches have been amazing and they have better a refreshing feel to Raw.
Earlier Today: Kevin Owens arrives and is greeted by Rollins and his Disciples.
Kevin Owens arrives at the arena and is greeted by Murphy, AOP, and Seth Rollins. Rollins tells Owens it’s so good to see him and then offers him popcorn. Owens throws his bag at AOP and then goes after Murphy. The numbers catch up as Murphy and AOP attack Owens. Rollins watches as he eats his popcorn. Owens is laid out and down on the floor as the medic is called for. Rollins and his disciples then walk away.
*** We get an exclusive look at Reah Ripley talking about WrestleMania as she torus the home of WrestleMania 36 this year, Raymond James Stadium!
In-Ring Segment: Charlotte Flair
Charlotte asks the crowd if they saw that package and says meet Rhea Ripley the next big thing, the new shiny toy, inspiring. She says that package had her all fired up. She says she is confused because Rhea said in order to be the best, you have to beat the best but Rhea doesn’t want to be anything like her because she wants to be herself. Charlotte tells her she is not her and she will never be her because there is only one. She tells Rhea to enjoy the hype around her because it’s not going to last. Charlotte says she is facing Rhea to teach her a lesson. She tells it’s one thing to stand in a stadium and talk about your hopes and dreams and it’s another thing to stand in a stadium full of 90,000 people and be humbled by The Queen. Here comes Rhea Ripley!
Rhea tells Charlotte she is going to explain something to her. Charlotte cuts her off and says we have heard enough from you, we already heard you talk for two minutes. She tells Rhea this is Monday Night Raw and this is her kingdom. She then tells Rhea she is excused. Rhea then punches Charlotte and knocks her down and exits the ring.
My Opinion:
I really like how that went tonight, Rhea didn’t need to say anything because her action was so much louder. It is very clear that Charlotte believes she has this one in the bag. Charlotte has done it all in the WWE so to her this isn’t even a threat. Rhea though is up and coming and for Rhea, I think this match is much more than just retaining the title. She is being given a shot to put the world on notice and make herself a household name. If she puts on a great showing with Charlotte, win or lose, this is going to be huge for her. For Charlotte, this seems to be about proving that no matter where you go in WWE you will never find someone better than her. It’s going to be very interesting to see how this plays out as both are capable of winning this match. Charlotte did make an interesting point though about the magnitude of the event and unfortunately for Rhea, it’s not something she can prepare for.
Backstage Segment: Randy Orton
Randy Orton waits backstage as we await the return of Edge, tonight!
Match 2: Bobby Lashley vs Zack Ryder w/ Curt Hawkins
Lashley lands a shoulder tackle and then brings Ryder into the corner. He hits him with big right hands and then stomps on him. He hits a spear in the corner and is in control. Lashley throws him into the corner again and continues the striking attack. Ryder fights back with the double knees but misses on the dropkick attempt. Lashley then lifts him up and hits a spine buster. Lashley hits the Dominator and gets the 1 2 3 on the cover.
Winner: Bobby Lashley
My Opinion:
Lashley destroyed Ryder in this match and showed that he is ready for much more competition. Lashley has been scratching and crawling since coming back to the WWE for his one big moment but he hasn’t gotten it. When Lashley left WWE he proved that he could be a top guy yet since his return they haven’t given him much to run with. Lashley has what it takes to be in the title picture or at least in a big rivalry. There is so much they could do with him and I hope they figure it out sooner than later because we have been waiting for quite some time.
***Drew McIntyre is in action, next!
Backstage Segment: Aleister Black & Seth Rollins & Murphy
Black goes to speak but then hears a knock at the door. He gets up and here comes Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy. Rollins says it’s nice to finally meet you. Rollins tells Black it seems he has run into a numbers game and tells him he is an expert at numbers games. Rollins tells him he wants him on his side and says perhaps he will consider joining him later. Murphy then throws him a shirt. Black says perhaps not. Rollins tells him you’re either with me or against me. Black says those sound like fighting words and in this case, I accept.
Match 3: Drew McIntyre vs Erick Rowan
Rowan tries for an Iron Claw but McIntyre fights it off and sends him to the outside. McIntyre meets him out there and throws him into the post. McIntyre then launches Rowan onto the floor. Mcintyre breaks the count and then comes back to the outside. McIntyre grabs the cage of Rowan and sets it on the floor McIntyre then grabs the steps and crushes the cage with them. Rowan comes around the ring and goes after McIntyre but McIntyre senses it and hits the Glasgow Kiss. Back in the ring. McIntyre weathers the storm of Rowan and hits the Future Shock DDT. He then hits the Claymore and gets the 1 2 3.
Winner: Drew McIntyre
My Opinion:
What an impressive victory for McIntyre, he stayed in control the whole time and never let Rowan get an advantage. McIntyre seems more confident and ready than ever for his match with Lesnar. Of course, this is a big momentum builder for McIntyre and the more matches he can get and win before his big match the better. The only problem will be that no matter who McIntyre faces they will not compare to Brock Lesnar. McIntyre seems ready for a fight but it’ll be interesting to see if Lesnar reminds him just who he is ahead of their WWE Championship Match.
Backstage Segment: Randy Orton
We continue to await the arrival of Edge. Randy Orton has not moved backstage and continues to lurk in the shadows as he awaits too.
***SmackDown Announcements: Paige Confronts Bayley and Jeff Hardy Returns!
***Later tonight Aleister Black will take on Seth Rollins!
Match 4: The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane & Asuka) vs Liv Morgan & Natalya
*** Before the match, Sane and Asuka talk in the ring. Sane asks Asuka how she is doing and the two laugh about it. Asuka then says she wants to fight Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, she and Sane then call them mean girls.
Sane and Morgan start the match. The two lock up and Sane backs her to the ropes. Sane toys with Morgan as she breaks the hold. Morgan comes back and slaps her. Morgan ducks a clothesline and tries a cover but Sane kicks out. Sane uses the ropes and is able to send Morgan flying across the ring. Morgan comes back and trips up Sane at the ropes. She then hits a dropkick to the back. She covers but Sane kicks out. Morgan hits Sane in the corner and tags Natalya. The two then hit a big suplex. Natalya covers but again Sane kicks out. Ruby Riott then comes out to watch the match from ringside.
Natalya and Asuka now square off. Natalya lands a shoulder tackle. Asuka fights back and sends her into the corner. Natalya is able to catch her as she runs at her. The two then trade covers. Asuka goes to the outside for a breather but she and Sane are then hit by big dropkicks from Natalya and Morgan. Morgan now tags in and covers Asuka but she kicks out. Morgan hits her and comes off the ropes but is knocked down. Asuka now works on the arm of Morgan as she has her down on the mat. Morgan fights to her feet and tries to break free but Asuka takes her down again. Asuka now uses the ropes for leverage and drives her knee into Morgan. Asuka then drives her boot into the face of Morgan. Morgan is thrown into the corner and Asuka continues to work on her arm.
Morgan is thrown near Sane and is able to knock her to the floor. She then takes down Asuka and tags Natalya. Asuka is able to fight off Natalya with a spinning back fist. Sane then hangs up the arm of Natalya on the ropes as the ref is distracted. Asuka stays on her and then tags Sane. Sane flies off the ropes and crushes the arm of Natalya. Asuka flies from the top and she then crushes the arm of Natalya. Sane tags in and does the same thing keeping the attack on the arm of Natalya. Sane places her foot on Natalya and covers but Natalya kicks out. Asuka now tags in. Asuka hits her with a knee and Sane hits a low dropkick. Asuka covers but Natalya is able to kick out. Asuka now hits Natalya in the shoulder with big kicks. Asuka now works an armbar. Natalya is able to hit Asuka with big strikes. Asuka now switches to a guillotine. Sarah Logan has now come to ringside. Natalya is able to lift Asuka and slam her to the mat. On the outside, Riott and Logan go at it. Morgan then goes up top and flies off the top rope to take out both women. Natalya has no one to tag and has to fight off Sane. she tries a cover but Sane kicks out. Natalya then hits the discus clothesline but still Sane stays in the match. Natalya now is able to lock in the sharpshooter but Asuka has tagged in and hits Natalya with a big kick. Asuka covers her and gets the 1 2 3.
Winners: The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane & Asuka)
My Opinion:
The Kabuki Warriors looked great in this match and continue to dominate as a team. I’d love to see the tag titles get defended soon and if they get their match against Bliss and Cross it should be a solid one as it was before. For Natalya, she was pretty beat up in this one and seemed like she needs some time to heal up. Natalya has had a rough go as of late and maybe a little time off will help her out. I’d love to see Natalya in the main event picture but unfortunately, she continues to be used as a prop for others to get over. As for the former Riott Squad, these three seem to really have a problem with each other. With each one trying to prove they’re better than the other, you can imagine this would be a hard-hitting match-up. I hope the rivalry continues to build and gives something all three can benefit from.
Backstage Segment: Edge Update
The wait for Edge continues as we again are shown the back entrance of the arena.
In-Ring Segment: The O.C. (AJ Styles & Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson)
Styles says not once but twice The Undertaker has stuck his nose in his business where it doesn’t belong and stolen moments from him. He tells how Undertaker stole a beautiful trophy from him and then cost him his match last night, he then shows the footage from Elimination Chamber. Styles then tells how 3 years ago he saw The Undertaker lose a match at WrestleMania to Roman Reigns, lay his gear in the ring and then walk up the ramp and throw up his fist and rode off into the sunset. Styles says he thinks Taker should have done it when he lost to Brock Lesnar but nonetheless the ruined a beautiful moment. He says he doesn’t know if Taker did it for his ego or the spotlight but it is a mistake and he wants him at WrestleMania. He says 15 years ago he might have been scared to call out Undertaker but not now. He says now he sees a broken-down old man Mark Calloway. He tells how Taker should have retired 10 or 15 years ago in his prime. He says he thinks it’s Undertaker’s wife that brings him back, he says it’s Michelle, Michelle McCool. He tells how Taker’s wife gets whatever she wants but she is the most conniving person. He gives Taker advice and tells him his wife is going to run him into the ground and he is going to help her. He says he is going to kill him in the ring at WrestleMania, or in his term take his soul and do what his wife wants him to do. Styles challenges him again to match and says Taker has already lost his pride and mystic and now he is broken down old man. He then tells Taker that the crowd doesn’t give a damn about him. He tells him to accept his challenge and fight him at WrestleMania and he will literally put the nail in his coffin.
My Opinion:
I’m sure this promo will draw mixed reactions, it was strange for Styles to call out Undertaker like that and break the whole character of him. Of course, everyone knows who Taker is and about his life but never really has it been said like that. It’s a new twist I suppose to why someone would want to fight Undertaker but it may not have been needed. Styles could have touched on other things but to be honest the talking isn’t what matters. This match could have no build-up and people will be excited just for the fact we get to see AJ Styles and Undertaker go at it. It should be one of those mesmerizing moments at Mania but I’m interested to see how this build-up continues to unfold.
Backstage Segment: Aleister Black
Aleister Black prepares for his match against Seth Rollins later tonight.
Backstage Segment: Randy Orton
Charly comes up to Randy Orton and asks if he can share his thoughts on Edge coming to the arena. Orton has a grin on his face but has nothing to say. Charly then walks away uncomfortably.
Match 5: Riddick Moss (C) vs Cedric Alexander: 24/7 Championship Match: 24/7 Championship Rules Suspended During The Match
Moss goes right at Alexander and takes him down. He continues to toy with him in the corner. Alexander fights back but Moss stays on him and hits a fallaway slam that launches Alexander to the floor. Back in the ring, Moss tries to put him away but Alexander stays in it. Moss works a submission but Alexander fights back. Alexander hits a series of strikes. Alexander hits him on the apron and then drops him to the mat. He covers but Moss kicks out. Alexander is sent to the apron but hangs on and goes up top. Moss stops him and then drives him into the corner. He hits a huge neck breaker and covers him for the 1 2 3.
Winner: Riddick Moss: Still 24/7 Champion
My Opinion:
Another big win for Moss as he continues to dominate those who are put in front of him. He has been impressive as champion and for the foreseeable future, it seems like it will stay that way. He has made the most of his opportunity on Raw and I accept his game to be stepped up each week. The other good thing for Moss is that he is facing good talent which helps continue to prove what he is made of. I really enjoy that he is a fighting champion and I hope he can bring prominence to the 24/7 Championship.
In-Ring Segment: MVP & Edge & Randy Orton
MVP says he can think of a whole lot of other cities he would rather be in. He says D.C. is so insignificant they can’t even become a state. He then tells at this stage in his career he is transitioning from in-ring competitor to brainiac. He says he wants to build his stable and he would like to build it with someone like Edge. He tells that with his guidance he can lead Edge back and make him a champion again. MVP tells the crowd he knows everyone can’t wait to see Edge but Edge isn’t here for the crowd. Edge is then shown arriving at the arena. MVP tells him to come on out here and says he has a proposition for him. Here comes Edge!
Edge grabs the mic and tells Randy he needs him to grow a set and get out here right now. MVP tells him he is focusing on the wrong things out here embarrassing himself. MVP says, speaking of the wrong things, how is your wife? Edge then hits MVP with a spear! Orton comes out of nowhere and goes after Edge. Edge fights him off and hits him with an RKO! Orton is able to slip out of the ring. Edge grabs MVP and chokes him. Edge then RKO’s MVP onto a chair. Edge then places the chair under MVP’s head and then takes the other chair and hits a conchairto on MVP and says “this is you, Randy”. He then does it once more to MVP. Orton then runs to the back as Edge chases after him as Raw goes to break!
My Opinion:
Wow, the message from Edge is heard loud and clear! Orton better watch out because Edge looks ready to destroy him. I think what Edge did to MVP spoke loud and clear and it is only a matter of time before Edge and Orton go at it. Presumingly they will have their match at WrestleMania but when this does happen I can only imagine how smash-mouth this one will be. This has been a long time coming and it’s great to see Edge back after these 6 long weeks and ready to get his hands on Orton!
***Next Monday will be the Contract Signing between The Undertaker and AJ Styles!
***We are then shown Lesnar vs McIntyre through the eyes of Paul Heyman and Drew McIntyre.
Backstage Segment: Edge

Match 6: Seth Rollins w/ Murphy vs Aleister Black
Rollins gets a waist lock on Black but Black fights him off. Black grabs Rollins and wrenches on his neck. Rollins works the wrist of black and takes him to a knee. Black rolls out and lands an arm drag. Rollins fights back and takes down Black. Rollins misses on the stomp and Black then misses on Black Mass. Rollins goes to the floor and black looks to fly over the ropes but Rollins moves. Black hangs on and sits in the ring as Rollins takes his time getting back in.
Rollins makes his way back in the ring and taunts Black. Black gets to his feet and hits Rollins with a series of strikes. Rollins comes back with a big knee to the gut. Black takes him down but Rollins comes back and gets him in the corner. Black lands a big boot and sends Rollins to the outside. Murphy checks on Rollins as Black goes to the floor to meet him. Murphy backs away but this allows Rollins to take a cheap shot. Rollins sends Black into the ring. He is able to land a kick to the neck and then uses the ropes to rake the face of Black. Rollins slaps Black and continues to taunt him. He looks for a sling blade but Black avoids it. He lands more strikes and then a big kick to Rollins.
Black can’t put him away but stays on him. Black has a waist lock but Rollins breaks the hold running him into the ropes. This time Rollins hits the sling blade and goes for the cover. Black kicks out. Rollins now goes to a chin lock and keeps him down on the mat. Black fights out but again Rollins catches him and sends him face-first into the turnbuckle. Rollins goes to the floor and hits him with a knee to the face. Rollins gets back in the ring and hits Black with a chop in the corner. He then lands a stiff right and another chop to follow. Black is able to send him to the apron. Rollins comes off the ropes but misses on the knee strike. Black hits him and is able to take him down to the mat. Black comes off the middle rope and takes him down with the moonsault. Murphy provides and distraction but it’s not enough for Rollins to put Black away. Black hits the snap suplex and covers but Murphy interferes and breaks it up.
After the match, Black attacks Murphy but Rollins helps Murphy and the numbers game catches up. Rollins then calls for the AOP. The Viking Raiders then come out to help Black. Rollins and Murphy get in the ring to help. The Street Profits then come out to help the Viking Raiders. Rollins, Murphy, and the AOP exit the ring. Ford grabs a mic and says let’s make this an 8 man tag team match because the Viking Raiders and the Street Profits are up and we want the smoke.
Winner: Aleister Black: Via DQ
My Opinion:
We had a great match going between Black and Rollins before it was broken up. I feel bad for Black because he is killing it in his matches and is being used a lot but he seems to be in the middle of other people’s problems instead of being able to fight his own battles. Black seemed like he was on his way to winning that one but we will never know unless he gets a rematch. It was cool having everything break down at the end I just again wish Black would have been able to get a clean win and get something out of this one.
Match 7: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) & The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs Seth Rollins & Murphy & AOP (Akam & Rezar)
As Raw returns, Murphy and Ford start the match. Ford and Murphy lock up and back each other to the ropes and then into the corner. Ford works out of the corner and is able to take down Murphy. Dawkins tags in and takes down Murphy. He covers but Murphy kicks out. Murphy is able to fight him off and tag in Akam. Ivar tags in as well and he and Akam trade big blows between each other. Erik tags in and he and Ivar double team Akam. Ivar tags in again but is hit with a big knee strike from Akam. Akam keeps control and tags in Rollins. Rollins hammers away on him and gets Ivar into the corner. He can’t throw Ivar so he hits him and tags Murphy. Together they throw Ivar but Ivar comes out of the corner and takes them both down.
Erik gets the tag and he slams Ivar onto Murphy. Murphy gets up and fights off Erik. He tags Rezar. Ford tags in and tries to take it to Rezar but doesn’t get far. Ford tries to fly but he is caught and thrown by Rezar. Murphy tags in and Murphy hits Ford in the mid-section. He then goes to a chin lock. Ford works to a vertical base but Murphy is able to stay on him. Ford battles out of the opposite corner and now tries to fight off Murphy. He eventually does and tags Erik. As Raw returns, Murphy stomps on Erik in the corner. Rollins tags in and sends Erik to the outside. Rollins attacks him and then throws him into the barricade. Rollins rolls in to break the count and then comes back to the floor to do more damage to Erik. Erik however turns it around and sends Rollins into the barricade. Murphy comes out to bring Rollins back in the ring. Rollins stops Erik from getting the tag. Murphy and Akam come in to take out the tag options for Erik. Murphy comes in as Rollins is hammering on Erik. Murphy adds his shots before tagging Akam. Akam does his damage and tags Rezar. Rezar hits a huge knee strike and goes for the cover but Erik kicks out. Akam now tags back on and works a chin lock. Erik fights to a vertical base and tries to fight off Akam but can’t. Rollins tags in and he and Akam beat down Erik. Rollins then drives his boot into his chin. Murphy then takes a cheap shot as the ref is distracted. Rollins hits him with a forearm and Erik comes back with a right hand. The two continue to trade shots. On the mat, Rollins works a front face lock. Dawkins sends Murphy to the apron and then hits him to the floor. The Raiders then fly to take down the AOP. Ford then flies and takes out everyone. Ford comes back in the ring but as he does Rollins comes out of nowhere and hits the Stomp. He covers and gets the 1 2 3 and the win for his team.
After the match, Kevin Owens comes to ringside and beats down Rollins. He then hits a Stunner on Akam and sends Rezar to the floor. He hits Murphy with a Stunner but he is then hit with a Stomp by Rollins. Rollins then hits him with another Stomp. Rollins stands tall in the ring as Murphy and AOP stand tall on the outside. As Raw goes off the air, Rollins hits him with another Stomp.
Winners: Seth Rollins & Murphy & AOP (Akam & Rezar)
My Opinion:
What a match these 8 men had! This one was really well constructed, it went back and forth the way it needed to and everyone played a big role in this one. I liked Rollins standing tall because going into Mania he should be the one with the momentum. Rollins is doing his best to take over and tonight he proved he is doing just that. The interesting part though is now Rollins is outnumbered. It seems now it is 5-4 so Rollins may need to look to add another person to the group. Either way, it was an exciting match to end the night and I can’t wait to see how Owens responds once again to get one back on Rollins.
Final Thoughts:
Tonight wasn’t the greatest but not the worst, it served its purpose as we are now in the home stretch on the way to WrestleMania and things are beginning to heat up! I expect each week from here until Mania to gradually get bigger and better. I really liked the match between Mysterio and Garza, Mysterio is a legend and he is really helping guys like Garza shine. I hope these have another match and continue to tear it down along with Carrillo and Andrade each week! I enjoyed the interaction between Charlotte and Rhea, Rhea made her point tonight and I’m sure that won’t sit well with Charlotte.these two are set to have a classic match and it’s one that’s tough to call. There are big stakes for both but more so for Rhea who not just makes but leaves her mark on the WWE with one big win at WrestleMania! I had mixed reactions to the Styles promo on Taker, in one aspect sure Styles did great with it but I don’t think it needed to go that personal. I think for almost every other superstar that is okay but for Taker it just seems like he is the one guy who you don’t do that too. Nonetheless, I’m excited to see them in a match together and the build-up I’m sure will continue to entertain. I liked the match between Black and Rollins. They really fought hard but we didn’t get that definitive ending. I hope Black continues to get these opportunities and eventually can get a clean win over someone the caliber of Rollins. On the same note that 8-Man Tag team Match did not disappoint! It was very back and forth and I felt like all the moving parts worked well, I really enjoyed this one. The feud with Rollins and Owens is far from over and it should be interesting to see what they do next! Finally, Edge returned and made a statement tonight! Of course, Orton ran away but Edge is waiting and I can’t wait to see him get his hands on Orton and see their big blow-up!!!
Overall Rating: 5.5/10
