Asuka looks for a clothesline but Morgan ducks and hits some of her. She drops Asuka face-first on the canvas. Morgan hits an enziguri and then a double stomp in the corner. She covers but Asuka kicks out. Asuka is able to catch Morgan in an armbar. Morgan breaks the hold by turning it into a pin. Asuka now hits a German suplex. Asuka hits a shining wizard and covers but Morgan uses the ropes to break the hold. Asuka taunts her and then is able to catch Morgan off the ropes. Again Morgan works a cover but Asuka kicks out. Asuka continues to try to put Morgan in the Asuka lock and finally does. Liv Morgan taps out.
Winner: Asuka
My Opinion:
This was a good match between these two. It was way more back and forth than I would expect and it was a great showing for Liv Morgan against someone the caliber of Asuka. Hopefully, for Liv Morgan, she can continue to put on good matches and pick up big wins as she did against Natalya last night to cement herself as a key player on Raw. For Asuka, I felt this match was a statement that right now she is back being Asuka the single’s wrestler and she is looking to work her way back up to the top and to the Raw Women’s Championship.
Becky Lynch & Shayna Baszler:
We then take a look back at Becky Lynch vs Shayna Baszler for the Raw Women’s Champion which saw Lynch retain her title. We then took a look at Becky Lynch’s post-match interview which was exclusively on WWE’s YouTube! In this interview, Lynch tells Baszler she knows where to find her if she has a problem with that finish. We then are shown Shayna Baszler’s post-match interview which was also on YouTube. Baszler makes it clear to Lynch she promises her the agony of her defeat.
Match 2:
The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) (c) vs. Angel Garza & Austin Theory w/ Zelina Vega
Raw Tag Team Championship Match
Dawkins and Garza start off the match, Garza toys with Dawkins before tagging in Theory. Theory locks up with Dawkins and gets caught in a side headlock. Dawkins knocks him down and then is able to run him over after Theory tries to out quick him. Ford comes in and Theory gets double teamed by Dawkins and Ford. They then take down Garza who comes in the ring. Dawkins and Ford send Garza and Theory out to the floor as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Dawkins works the arm of Theory and takes him down to the mat. Theory works to a vertical base and tries to break the hold. He is sent in the corner but then is able to avoid Dawkins. He hits him on the apron and then hits a dropkick to the chest of Dawkins. Garza tags in and lands a kick to the ribs of Dawkins as Theory holds him in the corner. Garza now drives his knee into the face of Dawkins as he wrenches on his arm. Theory tags back in and continues the striking attack on Dawkins. A kick to the back from Theory. He goes to a front face lock and then goes back to work on the arm of Dawkins. Dawkins gets to his feet and looks to break the hold but instead, he is hit with a knee to the midsection. Theory then bounces him off the turnbuckle. Garza tags in and now works on the leg of Dawkins. Theory tags in and now hits Dawkins in the face. He gets on top of him and continues to hammer on the face. Theory hits a kick to the ribs and now goes back to the arm. Dawkins again has to fight to his feet and catches a superkick attempt. He then is able to drop Theory to the mat. Garza tags in and so does Ford. Ford hits a crossbody and then a series of clotheslines. He hits a dropkick and then catches Garza with a DDT. Ford goes to the top and looks to fly but Vega stops him by grabbing his leg. Garza lands a kick but the referee stops the match and calls for a DQ.
Garza and Theory hold Ford as Vega hits him with a kick. Bianca Belair then comes out and takes down Vega, slamming her to the mat. Ford and Dawkins then attack Theory and Garza. Belair tells Vega she goes here now, she is the EST of WWE. She tells Vega she can’t outrun her and then tells her to come get in this ring before she comes and gets her herself.
Winners: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford): Via DQ: Still Raw Tag Team Champions
My Opinion:
Theory and Garza looked really good again as a team in this one. The actions of Vega cost them which usually doesn’t happen as she is always able to get away with what she does. I think Theory and Garza make a great team and could be champions at some point in the future but they’re gonna have to figure out how to put the match away. They did well in working on Dawkins and keeping him isolated but couldn’t finish him off. We didn’t get that real definitive conclusion which tells me we should see them get another shot at the title sometime in the near future. Ultimately though it was another good match between the two teams.
Match 3: Bianca Belair w/ The Street Profits vs Zelina Vega w/ Angel Garza & Austin Theory
Belair gets the early advantage throwing Vega down to the mat. Belair goes after her but Vega runs to the corner. Vega works a side headlock but Belair fights out and hits a shoulder tackle. Belair knocks her down again and taunts her. Vega hits her a kick and then a slap to follow. Belair grabs her and pounds on her as she takes her down to the mat. Belair throws her into the corner and then again throws her across the ring. Belair hits a spear in the corner. She then lifts Vega but Vega slips off. Belair does a handspring to fight out and then runs at Vega. Vega side steps and Belair runs into the ring post. Vega then uses the ropes to work a submission hold. Vega tries a cover but Belair kicks out. Vega hits her with a DDT. A cover but a kick out from Belair. Vega now works another submission and wrenches on the neck of Belair. Belair adjusts and works a suplex. Vega gets caught and Belair presses her before dropping her to the mat. Theory gets on the apron to slow down Belair but Ford and Dawkins go after him and Garza. The fight makes its way into the ring and the ref calls for the bell again.
Ford says we are just one day removed from the prestigious WrestleMania 36. He says his brother is her and his wife is her so how about we have a family affair and make this a 3 on 3. He tells that The Street Profits and Bianca Belair are here and “we want the smoke”.
Winner: No Contest
My Opinion:
This was a good match for the time it lasted as Belair was able to show some of the skill that has impressed the NXT audience for quite some time now. I love that she is on Raw now and I think she can be a key player. Vega also was impressive as we don’t get to see her wrestle as much. She definitely is good at submission hold and is crafty in the ring which always makes her matches interesting, I hope we see more of her in the ring as she could be a champion one day if given more matches on Raw.
Match 4: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) & Bianca Belair vs Angel Garza & Austin Theory & Zelina Vega
Dawkins slams Theory to the floor and then tags Ford. Ford hits a dropkick and then taunts Garza and Vega. Ford hits Theory with a chop in the corner. Theory sends him into the opposite corner but Ford works his way out. Theory comes back and attacks Ford from behind to send him to the outside. Theory grabs him from the outside and continues the attack. Theory backs him in the corner and stomps him down to the mat. Garza now takes advantage delivering a cheap shot. Theory now works the neck and arm of Ford. Ford fights back and works to his feet. He hits Theory in the midsection and breaks the hold. Theory comes back with a big clothesline. He goes for the cover but Ford kicks out. Theory now goes to a front face lock and holds him on the mat. Again, ford fights to his feet but this time he is thrown to the floor. Theory grabs him and bounces him off the apron. He brings him back into the ring and has to prevent him from getting a tag. Theory goes to a chin lock and continues to wear him down. Ford gets to a knee and then finally to his feet. Ford fights off but Theory takes a cheap shot on Dawkins. Ford takes down Theory and looks for the tag. Belair tags in and Veg now comes in. Vega hits her with a kick but Belair comes back with a big backbreaker. She takes down Vega and then Theory. She covers Vega but the cover is broken up. Ford goes after Theory but is met with a kick. Dawkins then takes him down before chasing Garza away from ringside. In the ring, Belair hits KOD and gets the 1 2 3 on the cover.
Winners: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) & Bianca Belair
My Opinion:
I really like this story between these two teams. This was a great way to bring Belair in on Raw and thankfully she got to shine at the end of this match getting the definitive victory over Vega. This rivalry seems far from over but so far it has been very entertaining. It’s a great mix of talent and with the Tag Team Championships in the story, there is a lot to fight for. I’m excited to see how this continues to play out.
Aleister Black vs Bobby Lashley Fall-Out:
We then take a look back at the match between Bobby Lashley and Aleister Black. Black would end up winning this one after Lashley took some bad advice from Lana telling him to go for the spear. After the match, Lashley would say in an interview that something tells him he needs new management or a new wife. Lana comes up and asks what are we doing and what are we talking about, Lashley tells her “nothing”, he then walks away.
Match 5: Aleister Black vs Apollo Crews
Black works a side headlock and takes early control. Crews fights out and works a side headlock of his own. Black is able to fight out and take down Crews as he picks the leg. Crews gets to his feet and works the arm of Black. He goes back to the side headlock but Black fights out and takes him down to the mat. Black now works the arm of Crews. He lands a takedown and continues to work on the arm. Crews is able to get control and ties up Black holding his arm. Black takes him down again and goes to a chin lock. The two go back to a vertical base. Crews works a front face lock and takes him to a knee. Black gets to his feet and works the arm of Crews to get out of the hold. Crews looks for a single leg takedown but Black hangs on. The two trade counters before Black sits in the middle of the ring. Crews goes to the outside to regroup as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Black lands a big arm drag. He works the arm of Crews keeping him on the mat. Black fights out but can’t gain much momentum as he is taken down again by Black. Black again works the arm. Crews back up to his feet finally breaks away from Black and knocks him to a knee. Black lands a kick but Crews stays with it and sends Black to the outside. Crews meets him out there but he is met with a forearm. Black lands another strike. Crews gets back into the match with an overhead belly to belly suplex on the floor. Crews hits Black with a right hand and more to follow. He tees off but Black fights back with a kick. It doesn’t last long as Crews hits a clothesline. He goes up top and goes for a splash but he crashes as Black moves out of the way. Black now works a kneebar. Crews hangs on and finally gets to the bottom rope. Crews struggles to stand and this allows Black to set up for Black Mass. Crews ducks and hits a pump kick. He then sends Black to the outside with an enziguri as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Crews looks for a suplex but Black is able to knock him off. Black comes off the top and stays on the attack. Black hits a moonsault and covers but Crews is able to kick out. Black continues the punishment and tries another cover but Crews kicks out. Crews then creates separation with a big dropkick. Crews grabs Black and runs him into the corner. Black hits him with a kick to the knee. Crews comes back with a kick to the head as he stops Black who went up top. He meets him up there and again looks for a suplex which he hits. Crews covers but Black kicks out again. Crews presses Black but is able to fight off as Crews leg gives out. Crews stays in it and again hits the powerbomb. He covers but still Black won’t stay down. He now looks for the Black Mass again but Crews fights out Black works a cover but Crews fights out. Black finally hits Black Mass. He covers and gets the 1 2 3!
Winner: Aleister Black
My Opinion:
What a match between these two! A story was told here, a technical match in the beginning, a faster pace in the middle, and a struggle for victory at the end. This was an excellent showing for Apollo Crews who has now joined Raw and was able to hang with Aleister Black who has been dominating for quite some time. Black gets the win and continues his winning ways but this isn’t a match he’ll forget. This was a very memorable match and I hope it sparks a rivalry that continues on. This reminded me of the rivalry between Sheamus and Cesaro where the two went out there and gave us battles in the ring. Hopefully, we will see this one again. Great job to both men, that was excellent!
Edge vs Randy Orton Recap:
We see the highlights from the brutal Last Man Standing Match between Edge and Randy Orton. Ultimately Edge was able to win this one after he and Orton beat each other up in what was one of the stand out matches of WrestleMania 36.
Match 6: Cedric Alexander & Ricochet vs Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
Alexander quickly takes it to Burch with very quick strikes. Burch comes back and is able to take down Alexander. Lorcan tags in and takes it to Alexander. He covers but Alexander kicks out. He then works a front face lock. Lorcan brings him to the corner and tags Burch. Burch stays on the attack and takes down Alexander with a big chop. He covers but again Alexander kicks out. Burch stays on the attack and works a chin lock as Alexander continues to be unsuccessful in getting a tag. Alexander fights off and hits a dropkick to the knees. Ricochet tags in and he takes it to Lorcan. Lorcan lands a boot in the corner. Ricochet fights back and takes down Lorcan. He can’t put him away and now has to fight off Burch as well. He fights him off with a dropkick sending him to the floor. Alexander tags in and they double team Lorcan. Ricochet then hits a standing shooting star. Alexander continues the attack. Ricochet tags in. Lorcan is hit with the neuralyzer. Alexander then takes out Burch on the floor. Ricochet hits the recoil and pins Lorcan for the 1 2 3.
Winners: Cedric Alexander & Ricochet
My Opinion:
An impressive showing for this newly formed team. Alexander and Ricochet really are learning to work together well and how to use their fast-paced offense to their advantage as a team. The Raw tag team landscape has changed and now with much quicker teams, they will fit right in. These are two people who have had individual success but I think as a team the sky’s the limit. They are very skilled in the ring and a quick victory over a hard-hitting team like Lorcan and Burch shows how dominant they could be together. I’m excited to see the rise of these two as a team and see where it takes them!
Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins Fall-Out:
We take a look back at the hard-hitting match between Owens and Rollins. Rollins would end up being disqualified but that wasn’t good enough for Owens. After the match was restarted Owens took control and eventually delivered a jaw-dropping elbow drop from the WrestleMania logo that was above the announcer’s table to put Rollins through the table. Owens would then go on to pick up the win and finally get one up on the Monday Night Messiah.
Earlier Today: Kevin Owens
Owens says for the last five months his career was hell. He says all he wanted for since November was to get Seth in a ring alone. He tells how he had been attacked by many people and questioned if it was worth it. He tells when he finally got his three-count it was all worth it. He finally got a WrestleMania moment he can be proud of. He then asks what’s next. He says he can go back to being the Prize Fighter or go after more people like Seth. He tells that he is here to say and this is the Kevin Owens Show.
Match 7: Seth Rollins vs Denzel Dejournette
Rollins quickly takes him down. He then stomps on him in the corner before driving the boot in the face of Dejournette. Dejournette goes to the outside and Rollins attacks him out. He brings him back in the ring and hits him with a vicious Stomp. He covers and gets the 1 2 3.
Winner: Seth Rollins
My Opinion:
I really like the expression of Rollins tonight which was anger. You have no idea what exactly is going through his mind which makes you wonder what exactly he is going to do next. Rollins obviously made a statement in this match and it doesn’t look like he is there to play around anymore. It didn’t seem his first loss to Owens on Night one of WrestleMania 36 bothered him but that second loss after the match was restarted has clearly gotten to him.
***Nia Jax returns, next.
Match 7: Nia Jax vs Deonna Purrazzo
Jax pushes her in the corner and Jax has to be backed up by the ref. Purrazzo comes out of the corner but is hit with a clothesline. Jax grabs her hair and pulls Purrazzo around the ring. Jax grabs her and hits her with another clothesline. She then hits another clothesline. She grabs the hair again before shoving Purrazzo to the mat. Jax then picks her up and hits her with the Samona Drop. She then hits a huge DDT and covers her for the 1 2 3.
Winner: Nia Jax
My Opinion:
A dominating win by Nia Jax in her return to Raw. It has been a year since we’ve seen Jax but she hasn’t missed a step. In this one, she was in control from the start. There was no hope at all for Purrazzo and Jax just toyed with her until she was ready to put her away. There is no doubt Jax is going to insert herself in the Raw Women’s Championship picture and once again be a key player on Raw.
Undertaker vs AJ Styles Recap:
We take a look back at the Boneyard Match. This match between Taker and Styles was a work of art. They beat each other up but eventually the Deadman was able to rise and show Styles and The O.C. exactly who he is and why he is a legend. Taker ultimately would bury AJ and ride off into the darkness. This is a must-watch!
Match 8: Humberto Carrillo vs Brendan Vink
Vink gets the early advantage after Carrillo failed to gain control using his speed. Carrillo creates separation with a jawbreaker. He takes him off his feet and gains control. Carrillo hits a kick to the face and then a dropkick from the top. Carrillo looks to fly but is hit with a big boot. Vink drops Carrillo and goes for the cover but Carrillo kicks out. Vink then keeps him down on the mat with a headlock. Carrillo works to a vertical base and tries to fight out but Vink throws him down to the mat. Vink throws him face-first into the top turnbuckle and then taunts him. Vink throws him across the ring. He lands a snap mare and then goes to the chin lock. Carrillo finally is able to fight out. Vink tries to slam him but Carrillo fights off. Carrillo comes off the ropes to hit the crossbody. He covers but Vink kicks out. Carrillo now hits him with a kick and knocks him down. Carrillo hits a moonsault off the mat. He then hits a moonsault from the top turnbuckle and gets the 1 2 3 on the cover.
Winner: Humberto Carrillo
My Opinion:
Vink was impressive throughout this match using his power advantage but ultimately didn’t know how to keep Carrillo down. Carrillo continued to fight and used his quickness to mount much-needed offense to put Vink down. Carrillo hit that beautiful moonsault at the end and continues to impress on Raw. Carrillo is definitely in the becoming a key player on Raw and tonight is another notch in his belt as he showed he can beat a much bigger opponent. As we restart the year-long wait until WrestleMania 37, look for Carrillo to be a key player as it inches closer as he hopefully will secure himself a spot on the “Showcase Of The Immortals”.
Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley Recap:
We take a look at what was a great power match between a legend in the making and a rising star in WWE. Charlotte showed her veteran presence in this match and worked the leg of Ripley early. This would hurt Ripley for the rest of the match and she never could come back. Charlotte eventually locked in her Figure 8 submission and made Rhea tap. In a post-match interview exclusively on YouTube Charlotte talked about the titles she has won and how this is her second NXT Women’s Championship reign. She told that Rhea did what every woman in this company does, “Bow down to the Queen”.
Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar Recap:
The main event of night 2 of WrestleMania 36 was a classic power vs power match. McIntyre had to find his bearings against Lesnar as Lesnar early on looked to dominate. McIntyre held on after being hit with a series of suplexes and F5’s. it would take McIntyre 3 Claymore Kicks in a row but he would eventually put down the Beast Incarnate and get the 1 2 3 to win his first WWE Championship.

Winner: Drew McIntyre
My Opinion:
This was a really cool way to end the show as it was built up all night about this major event that happened after WrestleMania 36 ended. It was awesome to see The Big Show and it felt at that moment that McIntyre was going to have his moment spoiled. Show said how it was to McIntyre and ultimately got his match for the WWE Championship. Just like he did against Brock Lesnar, McIntyre fought through the pain and the heavy offensive to stay in the match and pick his spot. McIntyre shocked us all again by beating the giant Big Show. McIntyre retains the title thankfully and showed exactly what he is made of. He is a solidified champion and now we wonder if there is anyone who can stop him?! A big congratulations to McIntyre for winning and retaining the WWE Championship all in one night, what a WrestleMania for him!!!
Final Thoughts:
What a Raw we saw tonight, there was something about this show that was just awesome. I found myself lost, not thinking about how there was no crowd but instead just focused on the show as a whole. First we had some good recaps from WrestleMania 36, there were some amazing matches on that show and it was historic for many reasons. I was impressed by many people tonight such as Humberto Carrillo, Liv Morgan, and Apollo Crews. Those three went out and even though Carrillo was the only one to win they all proved they here to be key players on Raw. I mean how about that match between Aleister Black and Apollo Crews? That was one of the best I’ve seen on Raw in quite some time and I hope we get that one again! I was glad to see Bianca Belair make her Raw debut. I think she will add life to the Women’s Division and continue the success she had in NXT. We’re seeing the Raw Tag Team Division is heating up and with these fast-paced teams, this should be very exciting going forward.
We also got the return of Nia Jax who looked better than ever and we have his very angry version of Seth Rollins who looks ready to take on the world so that should be very exciting. The ending was perfect as well, it seemed this would be set up for McIntyre to get screwed out of the title but no, he persevered and ultimately retained the WWE Championship which he had just won moments before. McIntyre is a fighting champion and proved he can beat anyone. I cannot wait to see him be the face of Raw, it is long overdue and very deserved! Between the matches, the recaps, and the new developments tonight was exciting and off the charts. This was an awesome Raw and even though circumstances aren’t ideal it was perfect for what they have to work with. Thank you again to WWE for entertaining us and giving us all they got. Tonight was amazing and so was WrestleMania 36, I can’t wait for NXT and SmackDown and for what’s to come in the future!!!
Overall Rating: 10/10
