If you’re an old-school wrestling fan that grew up on Jim Crockett Promotions during the 80s, then this is the show for you. “Double A” Arn Anderson has always had a voice that was easy to listen to. And he’s always been one of my favorite wrestling promos growing up. Whether they talk about the WWE events he was involved in during his long tenure with the company as an agent or if they go through every episode of 1986’s JCP’s World Championship Wrestling show, it’s bound to be a great listen.

What Happened When was the podcast that brought Tony Schiavone back to wrestling. The show began as an idea from Conrad Thompson to help Schiavone pay for his daughter’s wedding a few years ago and it’s still going today. Schiavone is now an essential employee for AEW and it’s all thanks to this show. Although they cover a ton of events and do a ton of watch-a-longs, it’s really just the silly banter between Tony and Conrad that makes this show so enjoyable.

OH, IT’S TRUE! IT’S DAMN TRUE! The Kurt Angle Show gives you a little bit of everything. It’s hosted by Kurt Angle and Paul Bromwell. They make sure to cover his memories and experiences in both WWE and TNA. They also regularly have guests on their show for interviews, which are always fun to listen to. Kurt Angle is very honest about all of the highs and lows of his career as he is very content where he is in his life now.

If you have ever sat through some old shoot interviews that feature Kevin Nash, then you know he is one of the most articulate and well-spoken legends of wrestling. He’s also an immaculate storyteller. This show is co-hosted by Sean Oliver, who is someone Kevin Nash is already friends with so the instant chemistry is there. Although they talk about wrestling, they usually start their show talking about a variety of topics. My friend @awrestlinghistorian described it best when he said it’s like listening to your own personal morning wrestling radio show.

After The Bell is hosted by Corey Graves and is a WWE-produced podcast. The WWE is very specific about who they let interview their talent. Most of the time if you’re not affiliated with the company through a partnership, an immensely popular podcast, or if it’s not PLE season for one of the big four shows of the year, you won’t see many WWE superstars interviewed regularly. However, with After the Bell you get to hear from them frequently. Also, Corey Graves is a great podcast host and doesn’t stray away from asking a lot of the questions we fans are dying to know the answers to.

If you love professional wrestling, are a collector of wrestling action figures, and are just in for a good ol’ fun time, then The Major Wrestling Podcast should be right up your alley. Hosted by Matt Cardona, Bryan Myers, and “Smart” Mark Sterling, it’s never a dull moment on this show. They break down wrestling news and share their weekly purchases. There are also segments such as “WTF Figure of the Week,” “Q&A,” and also interviews every once in a while. I’m so serious when I say that if you’re an action-figure fanatic, then this show will regularly entertain you.

Is Jim Cornette polarizing and controversial? Sure. However, he dishes out nearly six to eight hours of entertaining podcast content on a weekly basis. Jim Cornette has over four decades of experience in the business and has a loyal “Cult of Cornette” hanging onto his every word. Although he isn’t always right and can sometimes come across as out of touch, he still makes strong points about the current state of the wrestling business thanks to his personal experiences in the industry. Both the Jim Cornette Experience and the Drive Thru are hosted by Cornette and “The Great” Brian Last. On the Jim Cornette Experience, they talk about old-school wrestling, trending wrestling news, review episodes of AEW Dynamite, and much more every week. On the Drive Thru, Jim Cornette answers the fans’ questions while also reviewing additional wrestling shows from WWE and AEW.

When Eric Bischoff was in charge of WCW, they defeated the WWF during the “Monday Night Wars” for 83 weeks straight, hence the name of this podcast. Initially, it was a show meant to cover those famed 83 Weeks but it’s become so much more. At first, Eric came on the show super defensive and ready to argue as he’s not a fan of the narrative surrounding WCW’s demise that had been going around for years. However, as time went on he became a lot more loose and chill on the show, even admitting his faults when found guilty. Overall, Bischoff is someone who understands television, dealing with networks, and what it takes to run a wrestling company during a peak period of the business, which makes his knowledge priceless. He also talks about modern wrestling news and always keeps it 100.

Mick Foley might be the friendliest and most genuine wrestling legend around. He’s also quirky and an insanely entertaining personality. Therefore, you knew when it was announced he would be starting a podcast under Conrad Thompson’s “AdFreeShows” banner that it was going to be a good one. Foley is a best-selling author and if you read his books, you’d know he’s a great storyteller. That is what you get on this podcast as he revisits his career from WCW, ECW, WWF/E, TNA, and everything in between. It’s an easy yet fun listen.

“Good Ol’ JR” is an OG in the wrestling podcast game along with Colt Cabana, Steve Austin, Roddy Piper, and Chris Jericho. JR originally hosted his own podcast called The Jim Ross Report from 2014 to 2018. In 2019 he partnered with Conrad Thompson, bringing us Grilling JR in the process. If we know anything about Jim Ross, it’s that he doesn’t hold back and says exactly how he feels, even if that means it gets him in trouble. Jim Ross may have decades of experience in the wrestling business, but he’s also still a fan at the end of the day. Whether they’re talking about significant events from Ross’ career in Mid South, WCW, WWF/E, or AEW, or just talking about current wrestling news, you can always expect Ross to be transparent and honest.

Busted Open Radio, hosted by David Legreca has been around for a while on SiriusXM. However, with the rotation of co-hosts that include Bully Ray, Mark Henry, Mickie James, Tommy Dreamer, and Thunder Rosa, it’s become a lot more popular with wrestling insiders giving their opinions on things. Whether they’re breaking down the hottest topics in wrestling news or interviewing wrestlers from all the major promotions, it’s always a great listen. There will be hot takes and thought-provoking conversations daily, which makes it unique. There is a new episode to check out every day that keeps you up to date with everything in squared circle news.

Jeff Jarrett has decades of experience in the wrestling business and in various different roles backstage. Whether it was as a talent working under his father, jumping between WWF and WCW during the Monday Night Wars, starting his own wrestling promotion with TNA, working in Japan and Mexico, making towns for the independents, or most recently an active member of AEW, he’s always had a job in wrestling since he started. Therefore, he has an unlimited amount of stories that fans have never heard that they get to for the first time here. It’s the newest of the Conrad podcasts but packed with both information from someone who is an on-screen talent and worked a ton backstage. “Double J’s” show is one of the very best wrestling podcasts out there for old-school heads.

I first discovered Renee Paquette on The Score sports channel here in Canada hosting a post-WWE Raw wrestling show called Aftermath. I have followed her career ever since and one thing remains true, which is that she’s super likable. When she left the WWE, she started her very own Sessions podcast where she interviews mainly wrestlers (although she interviews other celebrities and athletes as well). The best thing about this podcast is that it feels like everyone trusts Renee and every conversation comes off like a casual conversation between friends. It is mainly an interview-based show, but the episodes of Renee and Emilio Sparks just having a cool chat are always fun too.

Talk is Jericho launched in December of 2013 and it’s still going to this very today. It’s one of the longest-running and most consistent wrestling podcasts of all time. Over the years, Jericho has interviewed a long list of wrestlers and rock musicians. He’s also interviewed other celebrities and regularly has a paranormal expert on the show to delve into the supernatural. Jericho also regularly talks about his wrestling career, both past and present. He’ll also share stories of his time on the road with his band Fozzy. It’s become a staple in the wrestling podcast space and its archive is packed to the brim with some amazing audio content. If you’re a diehard “Jericholic,” then you’ll definitely enjoy this show.

When Conrad Thompson’s podcast with Ric Flair came to an end, he followed it up by starting a podcast with Bruce Prichard. Bruce Prichard started in the business in 1973 with Houston Wrestling. Years later, he was hired by the WWF in 1987 in the midst of the “Rock N Wrestling” era and worked there till 2008 (give or take a year he wasn’t there). Prichard then worked for TNA and MLW before returning to the WWE in 2018, where he currently works. It was one of the first podcasts where we really got an inside look at the WWE during its most important years. It was also the first podcast to really give fans an inside look into Vince McMahon’s head as Prichard worked close to him for nearly two decades. This podcast changed the wrestling podcast scene, is the standard bearer for everyone else that joined Conrad Thompson’s network of podcasts, and will always be a fun entertaining listen.
