Extreme Rules Review
The Miz vs Dean Ambrose
This was an amazing opening match! The Miz was being an amazing heel and the crowd were really getting annoyed at him. He was trying to use the ‘Title can change hands via disqualification’ rule to his advantage with at one point in the match Miz asking Maryse to slap him, however the referee realised it was a plan and the match continued with Maryse being sent backstage! The ending was perfect with The Miz pushing Ambrose into the reference with the referee then considering disqualifying Ambrose and Ambrose was begging the referee not to. The Miz then came from behind and hit the skull crushing finale. The Miz has a great IC Title reign last time so I am excited to see what happens.
Banks and Swann vs Fox and Dar
This match was a lot better than I expected but it was fairly obvious that Banks and Swann were going to win as WWE reportedly has big plans for Sasha in the upcoming months!
Ellias Sampson segment
This was great! His song got so much heat and hardly any heels get the entire crowd booing them anymore. Sampson also has some good in ring talent so I think definitely in the near future WWE should give him a push! Even if it is just for the IC title.
Alexa Bliss vs Bayley
This match was better than their fight at Payback in my opinion and despite the terrible build up to the match, it was actually fairly entertaining. Alexa won retaining her title. I think it was the right decision and now hopefully Alexa goes on to feud with someone like Emma or Sasha because Alexa could put on great matches together! I’m really hoping she doesn’t feud with Nia as they are both heels and I don’t feel like they would put on a great match as it would be very hard to make Alexa look good against Nia because of the huge size difference! The issue is what to do with Bayley now as there is no doubt this has made her look bad.
The Hardy’s vs Cesaro and Sheamus
This match really did live up to the hype and had a great finish with Cesaro and Sheamus escaping the cage a second before Jeff. A lot of people are upset about the fact that the Hardy’s lose but I think it was the right decision. Cesaro and Sheamus need to look like a top heel tag team otherwise they will just be at the bottom of the tag division and they might as well go back to being singles superstars again, but this shows how great of a tag team they are. Also this could be great for the Hardy’s as the chance are they will get their rematch at Great Balls Of Fire. If they lose again Matt could turn on Jeff and finally become fully broken (as long as the entire ‘who owns the gimmick’ thing gets sorted out) Then at Summerslam we could see Jeff Vs Matt! Before after Summerslam they go their separate ways.
Neville vs Austin Aries
This match was their best out of the three PPV matches they have had. Neville looked extremely strong retaining and the question remains, who will ever defeat Neville? The only problem with Austin losing three times in a row is that he now looks extremely weak especially if they are going to put him on the main roster or in NXT again like rumours are suggesting.
Fatal 5 Way Match
Now to be honest I was actually disappointed in this match. It wasn’t as great as I hoped it would be. It had the potential to be 9/10 or even a 9.5/10 match! Yet it really didn’t live up to the hype. There were a few cool spots here and there and overall it was a good match. I think it was a great decision for Joe to win! He could put on a great match with Brock and I don’t think when he loses to Brock it will hurt to much. Still though it would be a better booking decision to let Joe win, although that won’t happen because WWE are still planning for Reigns vs Lesnar for the universal title at mania.
Raw Review
This weeks raw was the best Raw in quite a while now! It started with an amazing match between Wyatt and Reigns where Reigns won clean. I have no issue with this as if WWE are aiming to make Roman the top star of the company at next years WrestleMania then this is what they need to do
Samoa Joe chocking out Paul Heyman was a great segment! I loved how Joe told Paul what he was going to do before he did it. I’m really looking forward to the long awaited return of Brock Lesnar now!
The Miz’s IC Title segment was also very good. I loved how WWE are now making the Miz seen paranoid about Dean Ambrose, so much that he now seems to be going through a relationship problem with his wife! I’m guessing that all of this will lead up to a rematch at Great Balls Of Fire
The two mystery feuds also continued this week. First of all we saw Cass get knocked out instead of Enzo this week. I’m still pretty sure it is Cass and that Cass did this to himself. We also saw Graves and Angle having another encounter where Angle came and called Graves from the commentary table to have a private conversation before Kurt left the building. Still got a feeling that this is to do with Maria Kannelis as she has reportedly resigned.
The main event was a fairly good match between Rollins and Joe. Rollins was on top until Bray Wyatt’s video came on screen and distracted Rollins and Joe took advantage and won the match. So this means Bray is going to feud with Rollins but my question is who will Reigns and Balor feud with? Each other? Could Balor turn heel with the Club and then face Reigns? I guess we will have to wait until next week to find out!
SDLive Review
SDLive was great this week! Yet again the best in weeks.
We had a great opening segment where we saw the debut of Lana. The crowd seemed really behind her, and I loved how when she said she wanted to join the ladder match all of the other women found it funny, showing that they don’t think that Lana would have the ability to be in one. I’m really looking forward for her taking on Naimo at Money In The Bank. In the same segment we also got to see the brand new Women’s money in the bank briefcase which looks amazing! It looks really simple and clean and looks a lot nicer than the normal money in the bank case.
We also got to see a good rematch between Styles and Ziggler after the botched finish last week where Styles was meant to win but he lost. This week Styles did win though in what was a fairly good match.
We also saw Corbin yet again attacking Zayn. Honestly at this point why even does Sami bother having interviews! He gets attacked ever damn time!
In the main event Shinsuke Nakamura defeated the US Champ Kevin Owens cleanly. After the match Corbin attacked Shinsuke signalling he will win this years Money In The Bank Ladder match!
Weekly News
At Extreme Rules this week we saw the reveal of the Great Balls Of Fire Logo. Now I have to be honest, it did look like two balls and a penis! And I’m not the only one who thinks that. All over social media people were talking about it. In fact Sasha Banks was asked on Twitter if she though it looked like two balls and a penis and she replied ‘Yes’. WWE have now decided to change the logo.
This Sunday will be the rematch of Omega vs Okada for the NJPW title! Kenny Omega is favourite to win the match but the real question is, Can it live up to their last? I really doubt it!
The next piece of news could contains SPOILERS.
Baron Corbin is the current favourite to win this years money in the bank match, while Carmella is the women’s money in the bank match favourite.
It is being reported by a reliable source on Reddit that Rollins will be on the cover of 2K18. Rollins definitely deserves to be on the cover however I am really surprised it’s not Taker.
