Raw Review
Raw was pretty good again this week. It’s good to see that they did take the lack of views into consideration and are trying to improve the show again now and hopefully they keep this up.
The show opened with Paul Heyman coming out with Brock Lesnar. Yes Brock Lesnar and the Universal Title aren’t dead like many people suggested! Samoa Joe then came out and had a stare off with Lesnar before they broke out into a brawl. The locker room then had to come out to split them up, and after a few tries they did eventually split them up. This segment was really entertaining and enjoyable and it will really get people hyped for Lesnar vs Joe.
Later in the night Bray Wyatt cut one of his unique promo’s about Seth Rollins. Rollins then came out interrupting Wyatt calling him a coward and challenged him go proper him wrong. Wyatt responded to Rollins saying that all he sees in Rollins is a man behind him and told Rollins that he might be able to slay a king but he can’t slay a God. This segment was quite cool but it does leave us wondering what next for Balor? He was meant to be feuding with Bray but that doesn’t seem to be happening right now, so what is next?
The Alexa Bliss Women’s segment was also fairly entertaining although yet again it felt a bit weak. I can’t believe Nia Jax believed the fact that Alexa wanted to have a legendary match with her last week. We did get to see the return of Emma in the segment though. From the looks of things there is going to be a 6 way women’s match at Great Balls Of Fire for the title.
In the main event we got to see The Hardy’s have a rematch for their titles in 2/3 falls match. The match was alright but the first fall came way to quick and I think the match deserved a lot more time and then maybe we could have even seen a bit of a classic however considering the amount of time they were given it was a fairly good match. However as there wasn’t a clear winner because they all got counted out at the end I think we will get to see another rematch at Great Balls Of Fire which will hopefully be a better match!
SDLive Review
SDLive since the brand split has been known as the A Show and it has been! However yet again this week the show felt weak and uninteresting. There wasn’t even a standout segment and the fact that Nakamura unhooked the breifcase at the end wasn’t a great idea either because any wrestling fan who has been watching the product for a while knows that in a circumstance like this whoever is standing tall with actually lose the match, so now a lot of fans know that Nakamura will win it could actually stop them from watching the event (yes some fans would not watch it just because they know their favourite could win). I honestly don’t know what else to say about this weeks Smackdown because of how poor it was but I really hope it will bounce back next week which will of course be after MITB!
News
It is being reported that Triple H is unhappy with how Vince is treating NXT talent on the main roster and thinks that they are wasting them.
Many thought that after Paige had her nudes leaked as well as all that she said about WWE, she was almost definitely going to leave as soon as she returns from injury. However multiple sources have reported that Paige will return very soon!
This week we saw arguably the best match of all time at NJPW event Dominion when we got to see Omega vs Okada 2! It ended in a dramatic draw after the match went over the 60 minute time limit. Dave Meltzer has giving this match a 6.25 rating meaning that he does believe it was the best match in the history of professional wrestling.
Match Rating (x/10, only 7+ make it on the list)
Okada vs Omega Dominion 2017 = 10
Naito vs Tamahashi Dominion 2017 = 9
Takahashi vs Kushida Dominion = 8.5
Suzuki vs Goto Dominion 2017 (lumberjack match) = 8.5
Roppongi Vice vs The Young Bucks Dominion 2017 = 8.5
