Money In The Bank Review
The Money in the bank PPV is one which always has a lot of hype going into it, and normally it delivers. However this year was the most disappointing one ever!
We started off the night with the Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match. The match had a decent start but one issue I had with this going into the match was that I wasn’t sure if the women in the match could make it look real, for example when you attack someone with a ladder you need to make it look real and painful. However they all did manage to pull it off except for Charlotte and when she was attacking with the ladder it looked unbelievable weak! I was very surprised that arguably the best female wrestler in the world right now would make a mistake like this. I expected Carmella would win this and thought that Ellsworth would get involved and I thought this was fine as it’s a perfect heel thing to do, but that doesn’t mean it’s fine for Ellsworth the climb the ladder and win the first ever WOMENS ladder match! It was pathetic and when people think of the first ever women’s money in the ladder match they will think of this.
Next up was The Usos defending their titles against The New Day. This match was an amazing tag match and it did have a bad ending but still the match itself really showed what the Tag Teams can do!
I was really interested to see how well Lana is able to wrestle after training for a few years now so I was really excited to see what would happen in the women’s title match against the champion Naomi. The match was ok but it really did show that Lana can wrestle! In fact I actually thought she looked the better wrestler in this match! We really aren’t looking at a new Eva Marie here!
We then got to see the return of Maria Kanellis and the debut of Mike Bennet. They debuted under a new ‘love’ gimmick. This left the crowd chanting what chance and really did leave us confused. I’m really looking forward to what WWE are planning to do here.
Next up was Orton challenging Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship. This match was surprisingly good and Jinder played the perfect heel in the match getting an unbelievable amount of heat from the crowd! This match actually showed me that Jinder does deserve this title reign he has and he is doing a great job as champion!
Lastly tonight we had the men’s money in the bank ladder match. This was an amazing ladder match and I loved how it had a story though the match where Corbin beat up Shinsuke and Shinsuke had to be taken away, then later Shinsuke returned and everyone thought this would mean he would then win, but Corbin won the match! This will really put Corbin over as one of the most hated wrestlers in the company!
Overall I thought this PPV was a bit of a disappointment with basically all matches having a screwed finish which really can’t happen on a PPV.
Raw Review
Raw this week felt like the best Raw we have had in quite a while now.
The night started with Roman Reigns announcing that he will fight whoever is universal champion at Summerslam. I can almost guarantee you now that, that won’t happen and it was fairly obvious that Braun would return later in the night as of course in case you didn’t know, it is currently booked to be Braun vs Brock at Summerslam. This was an interesting segment and we also got to see Samoa Joe’s rage once again when he interrupted Roman!
I found it very surprising that Finn Balor looks like he is going to feud with Samson after Samson attacked Balor backstage and Balor interrupted his performance. This rivalry is definitely different and could turn out to be a good one.
Rollins announced on Raw that he was going to be on the front cover of WWE 2K18! He cut a good promo about it all but Bray interrupted and cut a very good promo and Rollina fired back with another great promo although the fact that Rollins was the face and he mentioned his personal opinion that Gods aren’t real and made it sound like a fact really won’t go down well with some people. Personally I’m really enjoying this rivalry and I feel like the two are working very well against each other.
Also this week on Raw Axel and Bo Dallas joined The Miz after he promised he could make them stars. This could be very interesting and at least now Axel and Bo will have TV Time.
In the beginning of Raw it was announced that Kurt would review who did has been Enzo Amore’s attacker the last few weeks. However when the time came it wasn’t Kurt who announced who did it, it was Corey Graves. Corey showed security footage of Cass staging his own injury last week. Cass then admitted to it and Enzo started to have a tear in his eye. I am interested in seeing how Cass does as a singles star but I really have no clue what Enzo is going to do now.
Overall this week I really enjoyed Raw!
SDLive Review
Tonight’s SDLive started with Carmella making her MITB winning speech saying how she broke no rules. Daniel Bryan then came out and invited all the other women from the women’s ladder match out. He then gave a speech and after Ellsworth made a negative comment about his baby he stripped Carmella of the briefcase. He then announced that next week there will be a rematch for the case! I think it’s just clear at this point that they have really messed up this whole thing.
Kevin Owens hosted an US Open challenge where anyone from local resident could challenge him. AJ Styles then came out but could face Owens as he wasn’t from Ohio. Chad Gable then came out an announced he has just moved into the area and then had a match against Owens. The match was alright but Owens beat Gable cleanly in the end.
The main event was Harper vs Mahal and it was a fairly good match which saw Jinder win at the end. After the match Randy Orton came out and attacked Jinder and the Singh brothers. It looks like we will be seeing Orton vs Mahal once again at Battleground.
This weeks SDLive felt boring and was hardly entertaining and was booked extremely badly! Not only that but also they only managed to fill 1/2 of the the arena which is unbelievably low for a post PPV show like this!
Weekly News
This week is was announced that Seth Rollins will be the cover star of 2K18 and the first trailer was posted online showing some sort of new storyline involving Seth Rollins. According to some leaks there reportedly will be a return of GM Mode! The same leak shows that The Hardy’s, Ellsworth, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate will all be in the game!
