WWE Extreme Rules 2019 Predictions
Hello Misfits! This is “The Wrestling Classic” Justin here with my predictions for this Sundays Extreme Rules PPV. Its the show where every match is supposed to be under some sort of stipulation but only a few of them are on this card. Honestly, if the name of the PPV was anything else but Extreme Rules, that would be great. Regardless, I am looking forward to this one for a few matches and potential moments that could occur on this event. Let’s get to my predictions.
Cruiserweight Championship
Drew Gulak (C) vs. Tony Nese

Drew Gulak defeated Tony Nese and Akira Tozawa last month at Stomping Grounds to finally become the cruiserweight champion. However, Gulak never pinned or submitted the champion Tony Nese in that match but instead he pinned Tozawa. Thus, Nese feels like he deserves and earned himself a rematch. I’m sure these two will give us a banger of a match but I’m putting my prediction on Drew Gulak retaining the championship.
Prediction – Drew Gulak
Raw Tag Team Championship
The Revival (C) vs. The Usos
Image via WWE.com
Remember when The Revival and The Usos first started feuding and I was confused about why Ryder and Hawkins were champions if two of the best tag team’s on the roster were feuding. Well, The Revival has brough the Raw tag team championship’s to this feud and I’m looking forward to it. Last month at the Super Showdown pre-show, The Usos defeated The Revival. This time around since I expect this feud to continue for at least another month, I see the Revival retaining and crushing The Usos dream of becoming seven time tag team champions.
Prediction – The Revival
Aleister Black vs. Cesaro

Aleister Black finally had someone knock on his door and it was no other than the Swiss Cyborg himself, Cesaro. This is great that they’re showcasing Aleister as a character to sort of re-debut him after coming up and just being paired up with Ricochet in a team. I kind of want to erase all of that from my memory and just remember Black on the main roster from this moment forward. It’s hard to do since he’s already had a Wrestlemania match. I’m just a huge Black fan and think he has the potential to be a major player on the main roster. I’m also glad they’re using Cesaro regularly since The Bar was dissolved due to Sheamus’s injury. Definitely a strong first challenger for Black and these two have the potential to steal the show if given the time. As much as I would love a Cesaro push, I don’t see Black’s first match after all these promos ending with anything else but a black mass.
Prediction – Aleister Black
Last Man Standing
Bobby Lashley vs. Braun Strowman
Image via WWE.com
These two have been feuding for a couple of months now. The last time we saw Braun Strowman he was spearing Bobby Lashley through the Monday Night Raw LED stage which led to explosions and Corey Graves saying “HOLY SHIT!” Bobby Lashley has since returned and seems have gotten more violent since the incident. Strowman on the other hand hasn’t been around since, and the story is that he suffered more from the crash. Their match at Extreme Rules has to have a definite winner as it’s a Last Man Standing match. This really sucks because I think both guys deserve so much more and I would be fine with either man winning. It would be a dominant win for Lashley which could automatically make him a contender for Seth Rollins championship. It could also be a way for Strowman to regain some of that momentum he lost in the past couple of years. Strowman has been to the top before and failed to capture his glory so I low-key feel like I’m rooting for Lashley to reach the mountain top. I miss Lio Rush though.
Prediction – Bobby Lashley
Smackdown Tag Team Championship
Daniel Bryan & Erick Rowen (C) vs. The New Day vs. Heavy Machinery
Image via WWE.com
The odds are stacked against the Planet’s Tag Team Champions as this time they aren’t just up against Heavy Machinery, who they defeated last month at Stomping Grounds, but also the multi-time tag team champions, The New Day. A lot of people really want to see The New Day win the tag team titles so The New Day can be a team of champions. I will agree that it would be a cool thing to see but I don’t really care to see it. I really would love Bryan and Rowen to continue their dominance bringing prestige back to Smackdown tag team division. Honestly, I would love for them to continue their reign and even their feud with Heavy Machinery. However. there is something telling me that Heavy Machinery might just be the ones walking out with the team team championship titles this Sunday.
Prediction – Heavy Machinery
Smackdown Women’s Championship
2 against 1 Match
Bayley (C) vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross
Image via WWE.com
It was a match I wasn’t looking forward too that much since I’m not the biggest Bayley fan. However, I find myself looking forward to it way more now that there is a chance that my favourite, Salsa Banks may return to even the odds against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. I still think the Alexa and Nikki friendship needs to lead to them going after the Women’s Tag Titles rather than being co-champions of the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Also knowing the real-life dislike between Sasha and Alexa, it would be a fine line between reality and make-belief if the “Legit Boss” cost Alexa the match. Regardless, I see Bayley retaining. Although, I could be completely wrong about this entire Sasha theory and Alexa could just win, if Sasha does show up I hope she turns on Bayley this same night or on the next episode of Raw or Smackdown.
Prediction – Bayley
United States Championship
Ricochet (C) vs. AJ Styles
Image via WWE.com
AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have got the band back together again and this means trouble for the new United States Champion Ricochet. Both guys have a victory over each other and Ricochet has also defeated both Gallows and Anderson in singles matches as well. Ricochet has been on a hot streak and as the new young talent being bred for the future, he should be. AJ Styles is already an established superstar with multiple reigns as the United States Champion and the WWE Champion in his four years in the WWE. Ricochet is on his way up and there is no one better to give him this rub than the Phenomenal AJ Styles. I can also see Styles winning with The Club standing tall forcing Ricochet to fight for redemption. That actually might be a better story but I’ll go with Ricochet here.
Prediction – Ricochet
WWE Championship
Kofi Kingston (C) vs. Samoa Joe
Image via WWE.com
Kofi Kingston is still our reigning and defending WWE Champion but he might be facing his most difficult challenge yet in Samoa Joe. Unlike Dolph Ziggler, Joe is not whining and complaining but making a statement. He’s happy for Kofi Kingston and glad he got to have his moment but his time is up. Joe wants to be the WWE Champion and he’s going to beat the crap out of Kofi to make it happen. Kofi Kingston also doesn’t only have to worry about Joe as Brock Lesnar is still lurking around as Mr. Beast in the Bank. I do think whoever defeats Kofi Kingston to become the WWE Champion will automatically become a top heel considering how over Kingston is with the people. I think Samoa Joe could be that person.
Prediction – Samoa Joe
No Holds Barred
Undertaker & Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre
Image via WWE.com
The Lord Of Darkness has returned and this time to help Roman Reigns with getting rid of Drew Mcintyre and more importantly Shane McMahons ego. This match is no holds barred and quickly going to break down into a brawl. Roman Reigns is looking for retribution. Undertaker is fighting for justice. Drew Mcintyre is fighting to prove himself. Shane McMahon is fighting to feed his ego so he can continue to call himself the Best in the World. I think the writing is on the wall and we all see Undertaker and Roman Reigns standing tall at the end of this. I also feel like we might be getting Undertaker facing against Drew McIntyre at Summerslam. However, there is one wild card in this entire story and that is an enraged Kevin Owens who has recently found a purpose to get rid of Shane McMahon. I am sure we will see KO appear during this match and make an impact.
Prediction – Undertaker and Roman Reigns
Winner Takes All Extreme Rules
Universal Championship & Raw Women’s Championship
Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch (C) vs. Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans
Image via WWE.com
Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch put their relationship to the test when they put both of their championship titles in a winner takes all match against the devilish duo of Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans. Thus far Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins have proven to be a solid winning team, even in elimination matches that make no logical sense. However, Corbin and Evans do have an advantage because there isn’t any personal feelings between them just shared professional goals. This leaves the WWE Universe wondering if Rollins and Lynch will let their professional careers affect their personal life relationship. It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out but let’s be honest, nobody wants to see Corbin as the Universal Champion. I’ll leave Lacey out of that because I actually wouldn’t mind her as the Women’s Champion but Corbin? LOL I predict Seth and Becky go over.
Prediction – Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch
