Thoughts
I wasn’t really feeling this. I like both teams but the whole thing felt extremely rushed with no point in sight. They really didn’t even build towards the hot tag and once the tag happened, the match was over. Would rather just be seeing Viktor in singles action, to be honest. I still love watching Goldust in the ring though. He moves around so well. Really isn’t much to say about this though, no story or anything.
They show the John Cena/Club promo from Raw.
Match #2
The Dudley Boyz vs The Lucha Dragons
As expected, Bubba starts off trash talking Kalisto hard, telling him he’s not gonna be flipping around but getting punched in the face instead. Bubba tells Kalisto to take the first shot and Kalisto kicks him in the thigh and elbows him in the face. Bubba shoulder blocks Kalisto and tags in D-Von. D-Von runs at Kalisto but gets drop toe held. Kalisto dodges some attacks and hits a springboard kick to D-Von. Bubba runs in and misses Kalisto, accidentally knocking down D-Von. Kalisto and Sin Cara hit tandem suicide dives. Back from the break and Bubba is beating up on Kalisto. Crowd is chanting ‘We want tables”. D-Von gets off the apron and pulls up the apron skirt. Crowd goes nuts thinking they’re gonna get a table, only for D-Von to close it back up and tell them no. D-Von gets the tag and elbow drops Kalisto. D-Von knocks Sin Cara off the apron and climbs to the second rope. He dives but Kalisto rolls out of the way. Sin Cara gets the hot tag but Bubba managed to distract the ref right before, causing him to miss the tag. D-Von mocks Sin Cara with the Lucha chant and punches Kalisto in the face. Sidewalk slam from D-Von. Kalisto hits an enziguri and tags in Sin Cara. Sin Cara quickly sends Bubba off the apron and takes out D-Von with a second rope springboard moonsault. Bubba runs at Sin Cara and Sin Cara holds the rope down, sending him flying over. Kalisto hits the Salida Del Sol and Sin Cara follows it up with the Dragon Bomb (Senton Bomb) for the win!
Thoughts
This was pretty fun. Both Bubba and D-Von are fantastic heels and it’s awesome that the crowd always falls for the table trick and it always gets good heat. As always, Bubba does not shut up during this match, constantly yelling at Sin Cara, Kalisto and the fans. Sin Cara, despite being an afterthought in WWE at this point, moves really well in the ring and I like his offense. Same with Kalisto. The finishing sequence to this also felt a bit rushed though. I think it would have helped to have an extra minute or two tacked on.
The show ends with a recap of the Ambrose/Rollins/Reigns segment and Rollins/Reigns match from Monday.
Overall
A decent episode but definitely the weakest of the 5 or 6 that I’ve reviewed so far. The opener was extremely short and still didn’t really have any pace to it. The ending came almost immediately after the tag and none of the four guys really got to showcase anything. The Dudleyz/Lucha Dragons tag match was pretty fun and had a lot of good crowd interaction. Probably not as good as their match from the MITB pre-show, but pretty close. Hoping for more of the regulars next week though. Need me some Ryder, Swagger, Corbin, Summer, Viktor (on his own), etc. Hell, might as well put Ziggler on there too if they don’t have anything for him. Although I’m not even sure who Summer would face since every active woman on the roster right now has a feud except her. Also, very curious what the brand split will do to both this show and Main Event. Will Raw get one and Smackdown the other?
