WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 Predictions

It’s finally back. One of my favourite matches returns and its back to being involved on the Road to Wrestlemania. The Elimination Chamber will be held on a now Smackdown Exclusive PPV named after Satans Structure similar to the old Elimination Chamber PPV events. This being Smackdown’s last stop before Wrestlemania makes me want to believe that the Smackdown is going make sure they pull put all the stops for this show. Hopefully the show will also give us more insight in the storylines and matches we might be seeing at Wrestlemania from the Smackdown brand. I mean will Cena go into Wrestlemania as the WWE Champion? There are three women’s matches which I’m sure will give us an idea where the Smackdown Women’s Division will stand going into Wrestlemania? Lets move forward with my predictions.

This tag turmoil match has the potential to shock us and be very unpredictable. It also is a really good way to showcase the Smackdown tag team division. There will be a spotlight on teams such as The Vaude Villians and The Ascension which hasn’t been the case for months now. It’s also great to think that teams such as the Uso’s and Breezango have the chance to walk out as the tag team champions to either surprise us or for comedic relief. Slater and Rhyno also have the opportunity to recapture their glory from months ago. However, I personally see American Alpha walking out as the tag team champions surviving the tag team turmoil. I know there is a popular theory that American Alpha should lose the tag titles only to regain them at Wrestlemania but I think the Smackdown tag team titles have been passed around enough since their inception. There has already been 3 championship reigns in its 5 month history. I think that makes the tag titles lose their importance and prestige in my mind. If American Alpha retain in a match where they have to overcome all the tag teams Smackdown has to offer that makes the titles feel more prestigious and solidify Gable and Jordan as champions. It also gives the option of former foes such as the Revival to show up on Smackdown to challenge the team that defeated all the other tag teams on the Smackdown roster at Wrestlemania.
Prediction – American Alpha

It has been a rivalry of brawls, backstage attacks and trash talking and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. These two veterans have been in each other face week after week since Natalya came forward as the one who attacked Nikki at Survivor Series. Natalya expressed her anger towards Nikki’s success accusing her of only getting the opportunities she’s received because of her boyfriend John Cena, being attractive and backstage politicking. Nikki sees this only as petty jealousy and that Natalya is the one who uses her family’s name at any chance possible. Natalya is fighting to prove that she is better than Nikki Bella and her talent alone proves it. Nikki is fighting to prove she deserves everything she’s achieved. Personally, I really want Natalya to go over as I think she’s the one who really deserves this victory but my gut is telling me that Nikki is going over and looking strong going into Wrestlemania.
Prediction – Nikki Bella

This has to be a punishment or something, right? It is very rare that the heel gets booked into a handicap match against two babyfaces. However, Dolph Ziggler is known as the show-off, so maybe he requested it? It just doesn’t make any sense why this match was booked the way it was besides the fact that both guys have had issues with Ziggler in recent history. Ziggler has beaten up both guys with a steel chair and has beaten Kalisto in quick matches the past few weeks so I understand the heat but to have to face both of them at once is questionable. I mean imagine Ziggler beats both of them. That would make Kalisto and Apollo Crews look very, very weak. I personally see this ending in a No Contest or Ziggler getting himself disqualified.
Prediction – Apollo Crews & Kalisto

Mickie James returned to the WWE sick and tired of hearing about this Women’s Revolution and women like Becky Lynch not appreciating the road women liked her paved for her but instead taking all the credit for where women’s wrestling is today themselves. Mickie James is here to prove that her era of women shouldn’t be overlooked. Becky Lynch just thinks Mickie James is delusional and is angry about how she cost her the Women’s Championship not once but twice as La Luchadora. It would be super cool to see Mickie go over but it wouldn’t accomplish anything unless they’re looking to book a rematch for Wrestlemania or on an upcoming Smackdown. Becky Lynch going over on Mickie James does wonders for Becky. Becky also has lost the women’s title and a lot of her momentum the last couple of months and big win here benefits her the most.
Prediction – Becky Lynch

The Wyatt Family has been twisted upside and full of suspense since Randy Orton joined forces with them. Although they have seemed to appear super dominant at times with the egos involved in the one group one could only predict that tension and conflict would arise. They were able to work together to win the tag team titles but it was also their tension and lack of communication that lost them the tag team titles. Harper believes Orton is trying to take his place in the Family and had alternative motives. Orton believes Harper is the weak link or maybe, just maybe he has a plan to break apart the family from within and that starts with Harper. Harper may be the only one who sees that as Bray has been blinded by Randy Orton’s loyalty. Orton is just coming off of winning the Royal Rumble and recently defeated Harper on Smackdown Live. Harper could really use a win here but I am not sure if that would derail Orton’s momentum going into Wrestlemania. At the end of the day he is Randy Orton and a loss does nothing to the man who has already cemented his legacy. I also don’t know what the plans are for Harper for Mania but him continuing being involved with Randall and Wyatt wouldn’t be a bad idea. A possible triple threat match between the Wyatt Family at Wrestlemania wouldn’t be bad. Therefore, I’m going with the wildcard choice of Luke Harper.

When Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss a couple of times in a row on Smackdown Live a couple of months back, I immediately figured shed be the next contender for the Women’s Title. It took some time to get here but Alexa is finally going to have to face the glow. I can’t express how happy I am for Naomi to be the number one contender for the Women’s Champion. Naomi has been there longer than a lot of these women of the new era. Naomi was a part of that same NXT class with AJ Lee back in 2010-2011. I do think Naomi should be the Women’s Champion but I don’t see it happening at Elimination Chamber. Alexa Bliss has been on a roll and really has come into her own as the Women’s Champion. I definitely see Alexa Bliss finding a way to come out on top here and going into Wrestlemania as the champion. I don’t know if she’ll walk out of Wrestlemania with the championship but she’ll be leaving Elimination Chamber as champion. That is my prediction at least.

Six men step into Satan’s Structure and one survives it to walk out the WWE Champion heading into Wrestlemania. Although, John Cena just won the WWE Championship for the record tying 16th time I strongly believe this reign was meant to be a transitional one. Although I think Styles could have remained champion and lost it in the Chamber and Cena’s historic 16th reign could have started later, I think with my prediction of who wins this match, its more effective if Cena is the champion. The Royal Rumble in Aladome will always be special because of that moment too. Also with the lack of focus creatively during the build up for the match where Cena won the title for the 16th time I feel like they were trying to down-play the moment because it was going to be a transitional reign. The fact that we got the Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton against the Champion John Cena on Smackdown this week also makes me believe that we won’t be getting the same match again at Wrestlemania. As much as I’ve been enjoying The Miz lately, I don’t see him being WWE Champion and headlining Wrestlemania this year. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him as Champion again eventually with the roll he’s been on but not yet. As for Baron Corbin, who has been growing on me a lot this year I don’t think he’s really cemented his spot yet to be a WWE Champion or to headline Wrestlemania. Although I am still not ruling out Baron Corbin vs. John Cena at this years Wrestlemania. Dean Ambrose is the Intercontinental Champion and personally I see him going into Wrestlemania as the Intercontinental Champion. That is that for Dean Ambrose. I have absolutely no idea what AJ Styles will be doing at Wrestlemania. The rumour is that he’ll be facing Shane McMahon and I still don’t know how I feel about that. I would love to see AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton and I am sure we’ll see that in 2017 some point but I don’t see Styles winning the title back after just losing it last month. The most logical choice for winner here is Bray Wyatt. It’s also fitting that the new Face of Fear wins his long overdue first WWE Championship in Satan’s Structure. Will it be with some shenanigan’s or something, most likely but it’s the prediction that makes the most sense. Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton at Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship. Maybe throw Luke Harper in the mix and we got a recipe for an interesting Wrestlemania match.
