NJPW G1 Climax Day 5 07/23/2017

Zack Sabre Jr. vs YOSHI-HASHI

This was a solid match up as I feel their styles worked well together. Far from Zack’s best match in the tournament but solid showing for both of them. HASHI showed out which is good because dude has talent. ZSJ wins here and continues a strong showing in the tournament.

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Yuji Nagata

I didn’t think this was going to be too good but man is Nagata killing it in his last G1. The man has been a silent MVP of this tournament. Every match he has had in this tournament has been awesome and this was no exception. I know Tana is awesome but he’s seemed slowed in his recent performances but he brought his A game here. Tanahashi gets the win here and sadly Nagata still hasn’t won.

Bad Luck Fale vs Tetsuya Naito

You know someone sucks when they make me not care about one of the most interesting characters and best wrestlers in NJPW in Naito but I simply don’t care about anything Fale does. And he killed Darryl. Fale wins here and no one cares.

Kota Ibushi vs Tomohiro Ishii

This match is just absolutely phenomenal. Everything about I loved. Just v=brutal strike exchanges and amazing reversals. I swear every G1 show I find a new favorite match of the tournament but man this was dope as fuck. It is on my list of favorite matches of this year so i’d say go watch it. Kota wins which surprised me but i’m happy.

Togi Makabe vs Hirooki Goto

This was hard to follow the last match but they had a solid match here. Nice short but stiff match that was awesome. Goto shows why he is one of the best workers on the roster regardless what anyone tells me I will believe that until it is untrue. Makabe gets the win here which is pretty dope,
