Raw Review 06/22/2020
RAW REVIEW 06/22/2020
Tonight Rey Mysterio returns to Raw but what will be in store for him after his son, Dominik, attacked Seth Rollins and his disciples last week? Also, we will see three title matches as the Raw Women’s Championship, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, and the Raw Tag Team Championships will all be on the line! Finally, what will Ric Flair have to say when he officially crowns Randy Orton “The Greatest Wrestler Of All Time”?
Raw comes to us from the WWE Performance Center.
Raw kicks off with a preview of tonight’s Championship Monday!
In-Ring Segment: Drew McIntyre
McIntyre welcomes everyone to Monday Night Raw or as he’s heard it being called, Championship Monday. He then talks about last week having to defend the WWE Championship thanks to R-Truth. He says he still stands here as WWE Champion and that was the past but now it’s time to look at the future. Here comes Dolph Ziggler.
McIntyre says he didn’t see that one coming. Ziggler says you’re surprised but you’re happy to see me. Ziggler tells that AJ Styles has been traded to SmackDown and in return, Raw gets him and Robert Roode. Ziggler says Raw got the better end of the deal. He tells McIntyre no is happier to see him as WWE Champion. He says he would hate to see McIntyre lose the title for any reason until he got what he was owed. McIntyre then asks what he owes him. Ziggler brings up how McIntyre got fired years ago and he would have been done if it wasn’t for him. Ziggler tells how he picked up McIntyre and brought him here. He brings up how they became dominant tag team championships because of him. He tells McIntyre that he is the dominant WWE Champion because of him. Ziggler says he knows McIntyre needs a challenger for Extreme Rules and all he asks is what he is owed, a WWE title match. McIntyre says that since they split apart is hasn’t been smooth sailing for Ziggler and without big daddy claymore he’s been losing a lot. He tells Ziggler it’s not that he isn’t talented but he’s become an entitled jackass. He says Ziggler thinks the world owes him something but it doesn’t. He says he does need an opponent at Extreme Rules. He brings up how Ziggler called him the Scottish Psychopath. He tells Ziggler to imagine how far he will go with this title on the line. He then asks Ziggler if he really wants this match. Ziggler says he does. McIntyre says okay, it’s official he wants the match. McIntyre then makes the match for Extreme Rules.
My Opinion:
This should be a very good match between these two. There’s a good history between them and I think McIntyre works very well with someone smaller than him. They are both world-class athletes and I have no doubt they will tear it down. I’m sure Ziggler has some tricks up his sleeves as it seems unlikely he would make a challenge this big without a game plan. McIntyre seems confident as normal and it should be interesting to see how Ziggler tries to get in his head. We have a very compelling story on our hands and it should only get better in the coming weeks!
In-Ring Segment: Nia Jax
Jax makes her way to the ring and grabs a chair. She sits in the ring as Raw goes to break. As Raw returns, Jax says it must be Monday because Charlotte Flair got exactly what she wanted whether she earned it or not. Jax says Charlotte went woo and got the title match. She then tells how she was cheated at BackLash and the next night on Raw. She asks where the fairness is but she is cut off by R-Truth. Truth tells her he thinks she’s confused. Truth tells her he is supposed to have a match against the leader of an evil ninja clan, Akira Tozawa for the 24/7 Championship. Truth says that is unless you are the real Akira Tozawa? Truth says everyone knows ninjas are the masters of deception. Jax tells him she is not in the mood for this. Tozawa then pops up behind the announcer’s table. The clan of ninjas then chases Truth out of the ringside. Jax then says she is not leaving this chair until… She is cut off by Charlotte Flair.
Flair tells Jax that she dropped the ball. Flair says since Nia didn’t get her way she is out here throwing a huge hissy fit. Jax tells Charlotte she gets what she wants because her dad is Ric Flair. Charlotte says his new title is Charlotte Flair’s dad and he loves it. Jax tells her if she thinks her father hasn’t helped her career she is delusional. Charlotte says yeah she is and then jokes that it was her dad who beat Asuka all those times. Jax tells her the last time they faced off she dominated her. Jax says she is the one woman built to take Charlotte’s crown. Flair then attacks Jax and the two brawl it out. Officials come out to separate them. Charlotte fights away and takes a shot at Jax. The two continue to fight but the officials get it under control.
My Opinion:
Nia does have a point as Charlotte didn’t do much to earn this title shot and I think it would have been better to have these two fight to see who is the number one contender. Nia though has come up short and she hasn’t looked as dominant as she should. She definitely needs a few wins to get back on track but I think she can do it. Charlotte wasn’t going to back down and neither was Nia so hopefully, soon they get to settle this the proper way.
Backstage Segment: The Street Profits & The Viking Raiders
The two teams talk things over ahead of their Tag Team Championship match that will end the tiebreaker in the, anything you can do, we can do better series. That match is next!

As Raw returns, Ivar works the arm of Ford. Ford gets to his feet but he’s quickly knocked back down. Ivar now gets him in the corner and stays in control. Erik tags in but the Raiders are unable to do anything as Ford fights out of the corner and tags Dawkins. Dawkins comes in hot and takes down both Erik and Ivar. Dawkins then hits Erik with a bulldog. Ford tags in and he and Dawkins hit the Viking Experience on Erik. Ford covers but Ivar breaks it up. Ford now brings Erik to his feet but he is met with a big right hand. Ivar comes in now and hits Ford with a back elbow. Ford is able to stay away from Ivar and hits an enziguri. Ivar comes back with a kick. Both men now make a tag. The teams trade cartwheels in the ring. Erik then slams both Ford and Dawkins. Ivar tags in and goes up top. He looks for the splash but crashes on the landing. Dawkins hits the cash out and tags Ford. Dawkins takes out Erik and Ford hits the splash. He covers and gets the 1 2 3.
*** After the match, the two teams share a hug in the ring. The Viking Raiders leave the ring and now the Profits are attacked by Andrade and Angel Garza. The Viking Raiders come back and chase them out.
Winners: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford):
Still Raw Tag Team Champions
My Opinion:
An exciting match between this team with the huge victory coming for the Street Profits. These teams know each other very well and it showed in there. The Profits were very impressive though being able to close that one out. They were able to overcome a team they struggled against and they showed they have grown as a team and really are one of the best in the WWE today. That was a huge title defense for them and I hope we see them in more meaningful matches going forward to help elevate the tag titles. I like Andrade and Garza being on the same page and taking the sneak attack. This is a perfect plan for them and it will keep them united. I can only imagine how exciting of a match we will get if they face off with the Street Profits!
Backstage Segment: Seth Rollins & Austin Theory & Murphy
Rollins tells Murphy and Theory that tonight he has a message for Rey Mysterio, soon all will be revealed.
Backstage Segment: Seth Rollins
Rollins says sometimes in life we are destined for roles beyond our choices. He says he did not choose to be the Monday Night Messiah, just like Rey didn’t choose to be a sacrifice. He says the difference is that he has embraced his role for the greater good while Rey has been definite. He says definition breeds suffering. He says that the saddest part is that Rey allowed his son to get involved in this situation. He tells Rey that whatever happens to him and his son will be on him. He says the greater good is coming for us all and there is nothing Rey can do to stop it. He says legends never die but they sure as hell can outstay their welcome.
Backstage Segment: Charlotte Flair
Charlotte comes out of the trainer’s room with her shoulder taped up. Charly comes up and asks if she has thought about postponing her title match. Charlotte says she will not postpone. This is what they do and this is not a ballot. She says her arm will be fine to hold up the Raw Women’s Championship.
Backstage Segment: Zelina Vega & Andrade & Angel Garza
Charly then walks over to Garza, Andrade, and Vega. she asks them what brought on their attack. Garza talks about how when you know what you want you have to be willing to take risks. Zelina Vega tells how Garza and Andrade are on the same page with their sights set on the Raw Tag Team Championships.
Match 2: Asuka (c) vs Charlotte Flair
Raw Women’s Championship Match
Flair works a headlock and brings Asuka to the mat. Flair stays in control and knocks Asuka to the mat. Flair gets in her in the corner and continues to hammer on her. Asuka fights back and is able to attack the shoulder of Charlotte. She then drives the shoulder into the canvas. Flair fights back on the apron and takes down Asuka. Asuka fights back and Flair goes to the floor. On the apron, Asuka hits a big kick. Flair fights back and takes out Asuka with a big boot on the floor. In the ring, Flair goes for the cover but Asuka kicks out. Flair now gets her in a head scissors. Flair works the neck of Asuka and gets back to her feet. Asuka fights back and tries to stay in the match as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Flair chokes Asuka from the apron. Flair gets her in the corner and hits her with a series of chops. Flair misses on the clothesline and this allows Asuka to get around her and hits a German suplex. Asuka now hits her with a series of kicks to the shoulder. Flair is now able to avoid Asuka and hit her with a big boot. The two continue to fight and Flair gets the better of Asuka. Flair goes for a powerbomb but Asuka is able to turn that into a submission hold. Flair taps out.
Winner: Asuka: Still Raw Women’s Champion
My Opinion:
Flair was dominant as she usually is in this one but Asuka weathered the storm and smartly attacked the injured shoulder. Asuka finally gets the win over Charlotte and it’s a huge one at that. Asuka is showing what it means to be a champion and that is to outlast and withstand everything to overcome in the end. It’ll be interesting to see who comes next for Asuka but right now she looks like she is ready for anyone. As for Charlotte she better watch out for Nia because she seems like she is ready to take her out.
Backstage Segment: Nia Jax
Charly asks Nia if she thinks her fight with Charlotte Flair early this evening had anything to do with the outcome we just saw. Nia says she thinks it would be a real shame for someone to kick The Queen while she’s down.
Edge:
Edge says here we are Randy, you won at Backlash. Edge says he doesn’t think Randy lived up to the claim of being the better wrestler. He tells how Orton tore his tricep but he kicked out and kept fighting. Edge says Orton will say he kept him around to prove a point but we all know it’s bullshit. He says he felt the panic and by coincidence, Randy hit him with a low blow. He says he saw Raw last week and now Randy is calling himself the greatest wrestler because he won the greatest wrestling match. He tells Randy to do whatever he has to do because beating Randy is what he expects. Edge says the low blow won’t happen again. He says this match and this injury, not being able to pick up his daughters on father’s day, showed him he needs to wake up a side of him. He brings up what Orton did to Christian and says he has been his best friend for 36 years and walked with him through every trial and tribulation in his life.
He says when he did that Randy put the pg superstar to bed. Edge says that he is thankful. He says Orton woke up the side of him that will sink to any level to get to what he wants, who doesn’t care how many backs he has to step on to get to the top. He says he will embarrass Randy, emasculate him and make his wish Cowboy Bob was shooting blanks the night he was conceived. He says Randy will go home and have his kids ask him if he is okay, he will have him laying with Kim with both of them knowing what comes next. He tells Randy to join him in the chores of the voices. He says he will rip apart Randy brick by brick from the inside. He says Randy woke up the evil, he woke up the Rated R Superstar. He tells Randy to get some sleep while he can.
Backstage Segment: Randy Orton
Charly tells how Randy injured Edge in the greatest wrestling match ever. Randy cuts her off and says when you back a snake into a corner it’s going to strike and attack blindly, it’s going to do what mother nature intended and defend. He says with guys like Edge and Christian when they come back he will do what he has to do to defend and survive and protect his family. He says he hopes Edge and Christian will reach a full recovery and he thinks they will live long happy lives as long as they do it far far far away from him. He then says he has something to discuss with the Nature Boy.
Backstage Segment: Charlotte Flair
Charly asks Charlotte how she handles a loss like tonight. Charlotte says she is not happy with what happened but she gives Asuka credit for targeting her arm because she knows that’s the only way… Nia then attacks her from behind. She says aww Queen you’re having a rough night. She continues to attack her slamming her arm in a crate. She then walks away. Charlotte then is checked on by people in the back.
R-Truth vs Akira Tozawa w/ The Ninja’s
Before the match begins, Bobby Lashley and MVP. MVP and Lashley attack some of the ninjas around ringside. Lashley then gets Truth in a full nelson and throws him around. Lashley and MVP then get out of the ring and head up the ramp. Truth is down and Tozawa sneaks back in the ring. He pins Truth and wins the 24/7 Championship.
My Opinion:
This is a big win for Tozawa and it’s good to see him back in the mix of things. He has done a lot of great things in the Cruiserweight Division and I’m excited to see what he’ll do now as 24/7 Champion. He’s definitely comical as well and I think he and Truth can do a lot of funny things together. As for Bobby Lashley and MVP, it is clear they are still ready to fight and make statements. I’m sure we will see more of this soon and MVP will make sure everyone knows Lashley is not done fighting to be the dominant guy on Raw.
Backstage Segment: Natalya
Sara looks for an update on Charlotte Flair. Natalya comes up and says with Charlotte and Becky down this division needs a leader like her. Natalya then tells how she doesn’t think Asuka is up for the job. Natalya tells Sara she dropped the ball because she had an announcement to make. She tells Sara she is going to have to wait now because her match is next.
Match 3: Natalya w/ Lana vs Liv Morgan
Morgan works a headlock early. She is then sent off the ropes and Natalya hits a shoulder tackle. Natalya hits a discus clothesline and goes for the cover but Morgan kicks out. Natalya gets her in the corner and stomps away on her. Natalya brings her to the center of the ring and puts her in a torture rack. Morgan is able to get to the top rope to break the hold. Natalya then hits her in the midsection and knocks her to the floor. Morgan is able to fight back and now take Natalya out on the floor. Morgan gets her in the ring but gets distracted by Lana. Natalya takes out the right leg of Morgan and works the SharpShooter. Morgan taps out. Natalya and Lana then celebrate together.
Winner: Natalya
My Opinion:
Natalya seems to have found a secret weapon in Lana. I enjoy this pairing a lot and I think it can help Natalya finally get to the top where she belongs. Lana has proven to be a good manager and she showed that tonight. These two together could be trouble for the rest of the division if they play their cards right. Natalya seems a little out of her mind right now but then again she may be more focused than ever. For Liv, I hope she is able to continue to fight back and show what she is made of. For a stretch, she was doing really good things but right now she is down and out. Hopefully, that will change in the future. There are a lot of stars waiting to show in this division and there could be a lot of competition on Raw going forward if they do things the right way.
Backstage Segment: Big Show
Charly asks Big Show if he’d be at this stage fighting off ninjas with the Raw Tag Team Champions. Show says when he thought he had seen it all Raw gets taken over by ninjas. He jokes about helping out and lending a right hand. He says he is about fun, just like on the Big Show Show. He says but he isn’t here about fun tonight. He says he is here about what happened to his friends last week. He says there is a heartless giant behind this fun exterior. He says when that guy comes out he can do whatever he wants. He says the World’s Largest Athlete is going to stay in the back and right now heading to the ring is one heartless giant.
In-Ring Segment: Ric Flair & Randy Orton
Flair says earlier tonight The Queen his daughter was injured but when she comes back Nia Jax will wish she lived and worked in another environment. He tells Nia when Charlotte is on a mission and come back she will be in a lot of trouble. He then talks about Randy Orton and when it comes to who is the best performer the best is Randy Orton and it’s not arguable. He says last week he took the Hall Of Famer Edge and the great Christian he punted them back into retirement. He then says he wants to tell him to his face and brings out Orton.
He tells Orton he is the most vicious and dominant performer in the WWE. He says that is a tough spot to sit on, position from, and dictate from. He tells Randy he is honored to be here. Orton thanks him for the words. He says it’s nostalgia they are in the ring together, one half of Evolution. He says sometimes nostalgia can be mistaken for legacy. He then goes over what he has done in the past week and says that’s nostalgia. He says being the Legend Killer isn’t. He talks about how he loves being the Legend Killer and what it means to him. Here comes The Big Show.
Show says he is not going to let him sit out here and glorify what he did. He tells Randy he is going to pay what he did from edge and Christian. He says he has known these two for a long time. He tells Randy he knew he was a narcissistic parasite. He tells how Randy latches onto competitors who make him better because Randy lacks the discipline to make himself better. He says once Randy gets what he wants, he leaves the host to die. He says we both know Edge isn’t done and he will pay him back for everything he’s done. Show then tells Edge won’t do it alone because this pissed off giant is going to break every bone in your body. He tells Show he won’t touch Ric Flair because he paved the way and is the reason they are here. He tells Show that he won’t touch him because they go back 20 years and have history together. He tells Show that he is a future Hall Of Famer and some may say he’s a legend. He says he didn’t know this would piss Show off so bad but it would be tragic for him to suffer the same fate. Show tells Randy lets go. Randy gets out of the ring and tells him he gave him a chance but he is done. He tells Show he knows what he is capable of when he is focussed. He tells Show he is motivated and what happens next is on him.
My Opinion:
This is the Randy Orton that I love. He is unpredictable and you never know what you will get next. I can’t wait to see what he does next because it’s always something that leaves people talking. There is no telling what he is thinking but you can bet he will be coming for Big Show. Hopefully, Show will watch his back because Randy has proven to stay true to his promises. No one is going to be safe with Randy Orton like this and I’m sure there will be a long list of Superstars taken out by Orton before Edge can come back and get revenge for everyone.
Backstage Segment: Sasha Banks & Bayley
Sasha Banks and Bayley grab their titles and head to the ring for their title defense!
Match 4: Sasha Banks & Bayley (c) vs The IIconics (Billie Kay & Peyton Royce)
Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Kay starts off with a huge kick to Banks. She covers but Banks kicks out. Kay keeps control and in comes Royce. Bayley trips up Royce and bounces her off the announce desk. Banks takes control in the ring. Bayley comes in and stays on the offense working the arm of Kay. Kay is able to back her into the corner. Bayley knocks down Royce. Royce gets back up and Kay takes control. Royce lands a knee to the face of Bayley as Raw goes to the break.
As Raw returns, Kay throws Bayley into the corner. Bayley knocks down Royce and is able to fight off Kay. She then lands a shot to the midsection. She then hits an elbow. Kay fights back and in comes Royce. Royce hits a fisherman’s suplex. She covers but Banks breaks it up. Royce now knocks down Banks. Bayley fights back with shots to the ribs. Banks now tags in and they double team, Royce. Banks covers but Royce kicks out. Banks now hits a snap suplex on Royce. She hits one more but misses on the third. Royce now sends Banks into Bayley. She tries a roll-up but Banks kicks out. Banks is able to work the Bank’s Statement and Royce taps out.
*** Bayley says they are good and that is what happens when you’re the boss and Bayley dos straps. Banks says she has been thinking. Banks tells Bayley she gets jealous when she talks about both of her titles. She says she loves seeing Bayley happy but she can’t help but want to experience that as well. She then tells Bayley she wants a title match. Banks says so at Extreme Rules she is officially challenging Asuka to the Raw Women’s Championship. Here comes Asuka. Asuka makes her way out to the ring but she is attacked by Bayley and Banks.
Winner: Sasha Banks & Bayley: Still Women’s Tag Team Champions
My Opinion:
This was a good effort by the IIconics but Banks and Bayley were able to work better as a team and capitalize when it mattered. I’m not sure what team will come and take the titles from them but right now they are giving the titles the spotlight they need. I hope we will see some new tag teams develop soon as the women really deliver in these matches. For Bayley and Banks, it’s clear they want to run everything. If given the chance they just might be able to. They are two of the most successful wrestlers in the WWE right now and I can’t wait to see if they can continue this reign of dominance.
Backstage Segment: MVP & Bobby Lashley
MVP tells how Apollo doesn’t get the business side of being champion but once he sets him up under his tree he can show him he could be the most prolific champion since himself. He says if Apollo doesn’t accept he will face the consequences. He then says he has to go to the most exclusive nightclub on the planet.
Backstage Segment: Liv Morgan & Ruby Riott
Ruby Riott comes up to Liv and she says not tonight. Ruby tries again and Liv says last week didn’t go her way and last week didn’t go her way, nothing is going her way and she doesn’t need her making it worse.
In-Ring Segment: VIP Lounge Hosted By MVP w/ Apollo Crews
MVP introduces the VIP Lounge. He says he hopes his guest understands how much of a privilege it is to be invited. then says his guest tonight potentially might be his future client and welcomes Apollo Crews.
MVP tells Crews he gained respect for him when he beat him for a spot in the MITB Ladder Match. He then tells how Apollo blew out his knee after. He tells Apollo he knew then that he needed someone to help navigate those bad decisions. He then tells the U.S. title is his ticket. Apollo says he got where he was without MVP’s help. He says he’s earned this and once again he appreciates the offer but his answer is no. MVP tells Apollo he could be one of the greatest United States Champions but he won’t be able to do that without him in his corner. Crews asks why that is, he asks if he will help Shelton Benjamin, send Lashley after him, or take it himself. He tells MVP he won’t let this title change who he is. MVP brings up his historic United States title run. He tells Apollo there won’t be a third time he asks and whether he likes it or not the United States Championship is coming home where it belongs.
Shelton Benjamin makes his way to the ring. MVP asks for a second but this allows Shelton to attack Apollo from behind. MVP tells Crews to never put himself in a two on one situation because that leaves you vulnerable. He says that gem was free but the next one is going to cost him, Raw then goes to break.
Match 5: Apollo Crews (c) vs Shelton Benjamin
United States Championship Match
As Raw returns, Crews tries to fight off Benjamin but he is met with a big kick. Benjamin goes for the cover but Crews kicks out. Benjamin sends him into the turnbuckle and keeps the punishment on the shoulder. Crews fights back and takes down Benjamin. Benjamin catches him on the moonsault and works an armbar. Crews fights back and both men fall to the outside. Crews gets on the offensive and sends Benjamin into the ring post. In the ring, Crews hits a kick to the neck. He then hits the toss powerbomb. He covers and gets the 1 2 3.
***After the match, MVP comes up to Crews and distracts him. Lashley comes from behind and works a full nelson on Crews. He wrenches it in and drops him on the stage.
Winner: Apollo Crews: Still United States Champion
My Opinion:
Another impressive win for Apollo Crews as he continues to be a fighting champion. There is no doubt Crews is his own person and has gotten to this point on his own but he is learning there are strengths in numbers. It’s not always the babyface way to accept help but all around the WWE, it shows that having people in your corner will get you farther. Crews might now want the help of MVP but he may want to get some so he doesn’t keep getting attacked. It seems Lashley and MVP could easily manipulate that title away from Crews so I hope he has a plan to counter this.
Backstage Segment: Rey & Dominik Mysterio
Dominik comes up to his father and asks if he is sure about this. Rey says trust me on this one, let’s go show the Monday Night Messiah how the Mysterio family rolls.
In-Ring Segment: Rey & Dominik Mysterio & Seth Rollins & Murphy & Austin Theory
Rey says one of the most terrifying things that can happen to a parent is not being able to get a hold of your child. He tells Dominik he tried calling several times and got no response. He says he scared the hell out of him. He says he didn’t feel any better when he knew Dominik was headed here. He says not even the most confident father would expect his son to get out of a three on one situation but he did and he is proud. He says he is also angry because he took a risk. He tells Dominik he knows the risks every time you step in this ring. He says he is pissed off for what Seth Rollins did but he has learned to accept that. He tells Dominik he is bigger than him but he is still his old man and no matter how big and storm ghe gets he will always be his child. He says since Dominik fought for him it’s time for him to fight. He says he’s got this one and he needs to get revenge on Seth Rollins but he has to do this by himself. Dominik says he understands but he isn’t going anywhere. He tells Seth Rollins this is what a family looks like and this family wants a fight. Here comes Seth Rollins.
Rollins tells them they are putting their Monday Night Messiah in a difficult position. He says he doesn’t know what to do. He says do I slaughter a father in front of his son? Or should he go down to the ring and make Rey watch as he sacrifices his boy? He says it is not up to him, this is fate and this is destiny. He says they are both in the same place at the same time, two eyes are better than one. Rollins makes his way to the ring. Rollins then gets on his knees and brings out Murphy and Theory. He tells Rey this is on him. Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black then comes from behind and attack Murphy and Theory. Dominik then gets his shot in on Murphy. Carrillo flies out the outside and takes out the disciples who were kicked out of the ring by Black. Rollins is then cornered and is hit with the 619. Rollins is now attacked four on one. They bring Rollins over to the steps but Theory and Murphy come from behind and break it up. Carrillo and Black have chairs and back them off as Mysterio and Dominik stand tall in the ring. Rollins, Murphy, and Theory stand at the top of the ramp.
My Opinion:
This was an explosive way to end the night! We saw a little payback but it is not nearly enough for what Rollins did to Rey. Now the tables have shifted and it will be interesting to see if Rollins is able to find a fourth member now that he is outnumbered. Rollins did not seem too happy about this one though so hopefully these four stick together to prevent the sneak attacks that Rollins and the disciples like to give.
Final Thoughts:
I really enjoyed tonight, I thought all the title matches delivered the way they were expected to and there was an exciting element with so many title matches. I like the new match we have for Extreme Rules which will see Drew McIntyre defend the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler. This match should be very good as these two know each other so well. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds in the coming weeks. I liked what we saw from MVP and Lashley tonight as well. They are showing that they are taking what they want and I hope now that they have time to develop this team and maybe add some new players. I also liked the new side of Natalya.
She picked up an easy victory tonight and she seemed a lot more comfortable having someone by her side. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes now that she has the help of Lana. I liked Big Show standing up to Randy Orton but it seemed he only fired him up more. Hopefully, this won’t spell bad news for Big Show because Randy Orton seems ready to destroy anyone in his way. Finally, I loved the ending segment. It’s great to have Rey and his son here on Raw and I’d love to see them team up in the future. They finally had the help they needed and got some much-needed retribution. This story is only getting better and I can’t wait to see what happens next week. As always I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and enjoys NXT and SmackDown!
Overall Rating: 6/10
