Raw Review 08/31/2020
RAW REVIEW 08/31/2020
Tonight is the Fall-Out Edition Of Monday Night Raw after last night’s PayBack PPV! First, what is the condition of the WWE Drew McIntyre? On the same note, what will be next for Keith Lee after his definitive victory over Randy Orton last night? Also, after a huge victory last night for Rey and Dominik Mysterio over Seth Rollins and Murphy can Dominik keep the momentum going as he faces Rolling one on one? Then, where does Shayna Basler and Nia Jax go from here now that they are the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions but both have aspirations of holding the Raw Women’s Championship?
Raw comes to us from the Amway Center inside the WWE ThunderDome!
Raw kicks off with us being introduced by Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and Samoa Joe. We then get told that there will be three singles matches tonight and the winner’s of those will face off in a Triple Threat Match and the winner of that will go on to face Drew McIntyre at Clash Of Champions. Dominik Mysterio is also announced to be replacing Rey Mysterio tonight in a qualifying match against Seth Rollins
In-Ring Segment: Randy Orton & Keith Lee
Orton tells that he saw Drew McIntyre’s offer for a rematch as pity. He relishes in what he did to McIntyre and says he deserves to be in pain. Orton then tells that the only person dishing out kicks in the WWE is the Legend Killer. He then goes over the list of the people he has taken out with his Punt Kicks. Orton tells how McIntyre told him he is entitled and handed everything.
Orton says he is and shouldn’t have to face Kevin Owens tonight or anyone else to get his rematch. He says he will jump through the hoops and play the game and go on to Clash Of Champions to beat Drew McIntyre for the title once and for all. Orton says that is if Drew is healthy enough. Orton then jokes about everyone he has punted and shows a picture of them laying in the hospital together. Here comes Keith Lee!
Lee tells Orton he has done well for himself and he seems amused and proud of the havoc he has caused and the damage he did last week on Raw. He tells Orton he seems to be doing his best to forget about what happened at PayBack and the fact that he beat him. Lee says Orton may be the best ever to lace up a pair of boots but last night he gave him no choice but to bask in his glory.
He then says after that Orton is out here trying to talk about opportunities that should be handed to him. Lee says his victory over a legend killer means he should get the opportunity at the WWE Championship. He then tells that Drew is one of his good friends and Drew will make good on his receipts at some point. Dolph Ziggler then attacks Lee from behind. Lee fights back and fights him off. Distracted by Orton now Ziggler is able to get the best of Lee as we go to commercial.
My Opinion:
Keith Lee sure did look impressive last night and he would be a good candidate to be in that main event spot. However, I don’t think Lee should be in it yet if he isn’t going to win. I don’t think it does him much good to lose in a big match like that already. Instead, I think Lee should keep getting these big wins on PPV and keep building his resume on the main roster. For Orton, I’m sure he will get another shot at some point and if he does win the WWE Championship that could be a big opportunity then for a guy like Keith Lee to step up and beat him and cement his place on Raw.
Match 1: Keith Lee vs Dolph Ziggler:
Winner Advances to the Triple Threat Match for the #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship at Clash Of Champions
Lee grabs Ziggler and instead of picking him up he tosses him off to the side. Lee goes after him in the corner but Ziggler gets away. Ziggler goes after the leg of Lee but can’t take him down. Lee grabs the arm of Ziggler and is able to bend it, taking Ziggler to a knee. Lee now works the wrists of Ziggler and wrenches on the hold. Lee hoists Ziggler up in the air now. Ziggler gets down and takes a shot at the knee of Lee. Lee fights back and sends Ziggler off the turnbuckle.
Ziggler gets back in the ring and locks up with Lee. Lee backs him in the corner and is backed out. Ziggler now takes cheap shots to the knee. He then takes Lee off his feet. He covers but Lee powers out of it. Ziggler now goes to a sleeper hold and locks the body of Lee wearing him down. Ziggler now goes to the chinlock. He gets on the back of Lee but Lee is able to power through and get to his feet. Lee now works the arm of Ziggler. Ziggler fights that off quickly and hits a dropkick. Lee now pushes into Ziggler and knocks him all the way to the floor as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Lee takes it to Ziggler in the corner. He crushes him and then puts Ziggler on his shoulders. Ziggler goes after the nose of Lee. This now allows him to hit the Famouser. Ziggler covers but Lee kicks out. Ziggler now rakes the face of Lee again. Ziggler hits the neck breaker. He then hits an elbow and goes for the cover but Lee kicks out. Ziggler now goes back to the chinlock. Lee fights through and is able to lift up Ziggler. He then throws him off of his back. Lee hits a big right and another to follow. He then catches a shot from Ziggler and counters it into an elbow. Lee takes Ziggler down again. He then hits the powerslam and lays out Ziggler. Ziggler fights back in the corner. Lee misses and hits the turnbuckle. Ziggler hits the Zig Zag but it is not enough to put away Lee. Lee counters Ziggler’s superkick. Lee hits the Spirit Bomb. He covers and gets the 1 2 3.
Winner: Keith Lee: Advances to the Triple Threat Match for the #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship at Clash Of Champions
My Opinion:
This was a very good win for Lee as he really showed his power and also how he can fight back. Ziggler is much smaller so maybe Lee could have manhandled him better but Ziggler is a veteran so it makes sense that he was able to get some shots in on Lee. Lee is now racking up big wins and this is what he will need to ascend on Raw. If done right we can expect him to keep on winning streak for a while and hopefully they give him the chance to be the guy on Raw as he has worked so long and so hard to be in that spot.
Backstage Segment: Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax
Sara welcomes the new WWE Women’s Champions. Sara asks them how they were able to get along. Nia says she told Shayna to follow her lead and they would win. Shayna then says she told Nia to stay out of the way and she was able to put Bayley asleep. Nia then says she did the work to set up for that and she is the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and Shayna is just holding the other title. Asuka then comes up and Sara asks if she has gotten an answer as to who she will defend the title against. Nia and Shayna cut her off and tell her this is their interview. Asuka yells at them and then walks away from them as they stare her down.
Backstage Segment: Adam Pearce
We see a group of security in the back. Pearce tells them that they need to make sure they keep Retribution from wreaking havoc because last week they ruined the main event. Pearce then tells them if they can’t do this they will hire people who can.
In-Ring Segment: Asuka
Charly asks Asuka if there is someone she thinks is most deserving to face her for the Raw Women’s Championship. Asuka says she has beaten many women and then goes over the list of the likes of Baylye, Sasha Banks, and Ruby Riott. She then says it doesn’t matter who is ready for Asuka because she is ready for anything. Here comes Mickie James.
Mickie says she recognizes greatness when she sees it. She tells Asuka she is one of the greatest of all time but she is coming for that Raw Women’s Championship. Here comes Natalya and Lana. Natalya calls Mickie selfish and tells her she has had her chance. Lana tells Mickie she has failed to evolve. Lana says Natalya is with her because she is a trend setter. Lana tells Mickie to get to Natalya she has to go through her. Asuka then tells them she is ready for each one of them. Lana and Natalya then jump Mickie and Asuka and take them down. They fight back and Natalya is sent to the outside. Lana is then sent to the apron by Mickie and Asuka finishes the job with a rear view.
My Opinion:
I’m excited to see who will step up and earn this opportunity as it is time the Raw Women’s Division gets more of a chance and we can finally see the talent they have. I know Asuka can have a good match with anyone so it really doesn’t matter who she faces off against. I really hope we get to see someone step up who may not have gotten an opportunity yet. If not someone new it’d be good to see Mickie get another shot but if so she really needs to win. The same can be said for Natalya as neither of them have gotten the treatment they deserve.
Backstage Segment: The Viking Raiders & Cedric Alexander & Demi Burnett
The Viking Raiders are with Cedric. Demi Burnett comes up and says how proud she is of Cedric for turning down the Hurt Business. She says she supports all of them. She then gives Ivar a kiss on the check. Angel Garza is then shown in the background holding a rose.
Match 2: Mickie James vs Lana
James tries to get on Lana early but somehow Lana turns it around and stomps on her in the corner. Lana gets James down and covers her but she kicks out. Lana now works the neck of James as she has her down on the mat. Lana stays on James and keeps her on the mat. James fights back with a big shot to the mouth. James stays in control now. She looks for the DDT but Lana stomps on her foot to break the hold. James stays with it and is able to set up and hit the Mick Kick. She covers and gets the 1 2 3.
Winner: Mickie James
My Opinion:
This wasn’t the best match between these two but I can’t really blame Lana as she really doesn’t get much of an opportunity to get in the ring. For Mickie, she is just coming back and getting in the groove of things so I’m sure we will see much more from her here in the near future. As a whole there really needs to be more of an emphasis on these women’s divisions and they need to give more people a chance other than just a handful.
Backstage Segment: Charly Caruso
Charly says she is waiting to talk to Aleister Black about why he attacked Kevin Owens last week. She tells how at the time Kevin was under the impression that they were friends. The door opens and out comes Randy Orton. Orton then walks by Charly as Raw goes to break.
Backstage Segment: The IIconics (Billie Kay & Peyton Royce)
Sara asks the IIconics about their match coming up and how the added pressure that if they lose they can’t tag together again is weighing on them. Kay tells how they became best friends over their dreams of being WWE Superstars. Royce says they have sacrificed Birthdays and holidays to become Tag Team Champions. She says they always have had each other and they won’t let the snot nosed Riott Squad ruin that. They say they will bring the titles back to them and it will be iconic.
Match 3: Kevin Owens vs Randy Orton:
Winner Advances to the Triple Threat Match for the #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship at Clash Of Champions
Before the match begins Aleister Black comes from behind and attacks Kevin Owens. He lays him out and then walks away. He turns around and then hits Owens with Black Mass. Black then rolls Owens into the ring. The ref tells him he cannot compete tonight. Owens tells him to the ring the bell even though he is struggling to his feet. The match begins and Owens surprisingly hits Orton with stiff shots and comes out hot. Orton though stops him right away and hits the RKO. He covers and gets the 1 2 3.
Winner: Randy Orton: Advances to the Triple Threat Match for the #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship at Clash Of Champions
My Opinion:
Not exactly how I expected Orton to win this match but I really like the rivalry that is starting with Aleister Black and Kevin Owens. The new style of Aleister is what I think he needs to get to that next level. Owens can be a great opponent to get this new side of Aleister over. I think we can expect this new side of Aleister to be much more destructive and maybe now he can show just how nasty and methodical that he can be.
Backstage Segment: The Mysterio Family (Rey, Dominik, Angie, Aalyah)
Charly asks Rey about his emotions being that he can’t face Seth but his son Dominik will. Rey says he got closure with that victory last night. He says he is so happy to have his son Dominik by his side. He says he is also happy to have his wife Angie and his daughter Aalyah by his side. He says injuries happen but there isn’t anyone else on earth he would be happier to have his place than his son. Dominik says he knows he is the underdog but tonight he has a 619 with the Monday Night Messiah all over it.
In-Ring Segment: The VIP Lounge w/ MVP & Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin
MVP welcomes everyone to the VIP Lounge. MVP tells that they have the almighty, the CEO of the Hurt Business and the new United States Champion Bobby Lashley. Here comes Lashley to the ring. MVP tells Lashley that he has known a lot of young men who have made mistakes due to youthful exuberance and Apollo is no different. MVP tells Apollo that there are three things for sure in life, death, taxes, and Bobby Lashley.
Lashley then says he did exactly what he said he would do. He tells Apollo he doesn’t blame him for trying to get payback but he will get him back. Shelton says if Apollo wants to act like a little punk then he will beat him like one in the Raw Underground. MVP then says they need to handle these two Vikings and Cedric. He says last week they walked in and laid them all out.
Cedric then comes out and cuts off MVP. MVP tells Apollo he sees him by himself and asks him if he had a change of heart. Cedric says hell no and says he didn’t come alone. The Viking Raiders then jump the Hurt Business along with Cedric. Cedric and the Viking Raiders then stand tall in the ring as Raw goes to break.
My Opinion:
It was a big thing for the Hurt Business to have Lashley win the title. The group now seems more complete and now we can fully take them seriously seeing they can do exactly what they say. Lashley can be a good champion for a while and I hope this too continues to elevate Cedric Alexander as he could be a good foe for Lashley who eventually pulls off a huge upset.
Match 4: The Hurt Business (MVP & Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) vs The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) & Cedric Alexander
Lashley starts the match with Erik and quickly gets on the offensive. He backs him into the corner and hammers on him. Erik turns it around and gains control. Lashley doesn’t let this last long as he backs him into the corner and tags MVP. MVP comes in and takes it to Erik in the corner. He continues the punishment before tagging in Benjamin.
Benjamin tries to stay on the offensive but Erik fights him off. Ivar comes in and hits a huge knee strike. Alexander eventually gets the tag and tees off on Benjamin in the corner. Erik now gets the tag and hits Benjamin with a huge knee strike. Benjamin fights back and lays him out with a spinebuster. MVP gets the tag but so does Alexander. Alexander takes it MVP for a moment before MVP counters and takes him down.
He now hits him with a knee but it’s not enough to put him away. Lashley now gets the tag and drives his boot into the neck of Alexander. Lashley holds his knee on Alexander as he works his arm. Benjamin tags in and tosses Alexander with a suplex. He tries a series of covers but Alexander kicks out. Benjamin stays on Alexander and brings him into the corner. MVP tags in and hits him with a big boot. MVP hits the suplex. He covers but Alexander kicks out.
MVP now drags the face of Alexander on the mat. MVP now hits him with forearm strikes and keeps him down. He now turns to the arm of Alexander as the beating continues. Alexander fights to his feet and hits him with forearm strikes. Alexander looks for a tag but his partners are pulled to the floor by Benjamin and Lashley. Alexander works a roll up cover and uses the tights to get the 1 2 3 on MVP. MVP calls off Shelton and Bobby and they leave the ring.
Winners: The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) & Cedric Alexander
My Opinion:
A big win for Cedric and with this one you’d think MVP wouldn’t be mad as Cedric just did what he had to do to get the win. I really loved the power we saw from both Bobby and Shelton as well. As much as I love Bobby as champion I really do wish Shelton could be able to shine more as we are constantly reminded of how good he is in the ring. To me, this match showed as long as Cedric stays in the story with the Hurt Business it will continue to raise his stock and eventually we should see him get a bigger opportunity. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out but for now the Hurt Business continues to elevate themselves and those around them.
Backstage Segment: Titus O’Neil
Titus warms up ahead of his first appearance in Raw Underground!
Backstage Segment: The Hurt Business (MVP & Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin)
The Hurt Business beats down Cedric Alexander. They leave Cedric laid out on the floor as Ricochet and Apollo Crews come over to save him. MVP asks Cedric if he understands now.
Match 5: The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan) vs The IIconics (Peyton Royce & Billie Kay):
The Winning Team is the #1 Contender’s for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships & The Losing Team Must Disband
Kay starts off the match hot and stays on the offensive over Ruby. Ruby is worn down and Kay is able to work a tag. Royce picks up the scraps and works Riott on the mat. Riott works to her feet and fights off Royce. Liv gets the tag and is able to hit a huge dropkick. She covers but Royce kicks out. Royce fights back and tags in Kay. Kay beats on the back of Liv and taunts her. She now chokes her in the corner with her boot. She hits a modified suplex but it is not enough to put Liv away. Liv fights back with big kicks to the face. Riott gets the tag and hits Kay with big knee strikes. Liv comes in and saves Riott from Royce. Kay tries to steal a pin but she kicks out. The too then trade pins. Riott finally works a deep pin and gets the 1 2 3.
Winners: The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan): #1 Contender’s for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships & The IIconics Have To Disband
My Opinion:
I’m glad to see The Riott Squad get this opportunity as I have thought they should have gotten for weeks now. I really love Liv and Ruby together and I think they can shine if they are given more chances to. There’s a good chance they won’t win the titles but I hope they at least put up a good showing. I really like the Women’s Tag Team Division but it definitely needs some more teams and more excitement. As for the IIconics they are broken up for now but I’m sure they will find some way back together.
Backstage Segment: Shane McMahon
Shane goes over the big things we will see in Raw Underground tonight including Titus O’Neil in action, Apollo Crews in action, and Jessamyn Duke.
In-Ring Segment: Seth Rollins & Murphy
Rollins tells Murphy that last night he kicked him in the head and got pinned in the center of this ring by Dominik Mysterio. Rollins tells him with a WWE Championship opportunity on the line tonight he cannot have any mistakes and cannot have him screwing it up for him. He tells Murphy to get the hell out of his ring and out of sight until he figures out what type of man he wants to be, and what side of history he wants to be on. He tells him that he disgraces him. He says to get out of the ring again and he slaps Murphy. Rollins tells him to think about what he’s done and says he doesn’t need him screwing it up for him again. Dominik then knocks him down from behind and hits the ring.
Match 6: Seth Rollins vs Dominik Mysterio:
Winner Advances to the Triple Threat Match for the #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship at Clash Of Champions
The match begins quickly and Dominik goes right after Rollins. Rollins has to go to the floor and this is where he takes over on Dominik. He brings him back into the ring and continues to beat on him. Rollins backs him off the ropes but he is kicked in the shoulder. Dominik comes off the ropes and takes him down. Dominik then goes for a 619 but Rollins moves out of the way. Dominik then sends Rolllins off the announce desk. Rollins is then laid out by a senton as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Rollins is now in control. He takes down Dominik and tries to put him away with a cover but he kicks out. Rollins now uses his legs to work a waist lock. Winner: Seth Rollins: Advances to the Triple Threat Match for the #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship at Clash Of Champions
Raw Underground Part 1: Titus O’Neil & Riddick Moss
As we begin Titus slams his opponent to the ground and puts him away quickly. Titus gets another challenger and lands a takedown early. He then hits him with headbutts and puts him away. Riddick Moss now challenges him. Moss takes him down and hammers away with big right hands. Titus turns it over and now delivers shots of his own. Moss is back on the offensive. Titus fights him off and gets to his feet. He then throws him out of the ring. The two fight on the floor for a moment before getting back in the ring. Titus grabs him and throws him down. Moss comes back with a few right hands and knocks Titus out.
My Opinion:
I was impressed to see this side of Titus and it was the side I would love to see more. He is obviously a big guy and he can put on a great showing in the ring. I’m not sure why they don’t do more with him other than the fact that he does so much outside of the ring. For Riddick Moss, he looked great as he has been in Raw Underground. I think he has a lot to offer and I still want to see more of him. We’ll see if he shows up next week and can impress with more wins.
Backstage Segment: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)
Ford and Dawkins hype things up before they face off against Andrade and Garza in a Tornado Tag Match. Dawkins has a chart made with coaching strategies for Garza, Andrade, and Vega. Dawkins then jokes Vega is too short for roller coasters and that’s why she is always made. Ford then says then say they will bring the thunder to the ThunderDome because the Street Profits are up and we want the smoke.
Early Today: Akira Tozawa
Tozawa drives into the building with his ninja’s. He is then stopped and told he is not on the list. He gets out of the car and sees that the list is blank. He pulls off the security jacket and reveals a WWE Referee shirt. R-Truth comes out of nowhere and pins him to win the Championship. Tozawa then abducts the ref and drives away leaving one of his ninja’s behind.

As Raw returns, Andrade works on Ford. Garza comes over and helps. They then send Ford shoulder first into the ring post. They bring Dawkins into the ring and wear him down working his arm and hitting him with shots to the body. Garza covers but Dawkins kicks out. Garza then lands a hard kick to the face of Dawkins. Garza covers but again Dawkins is able to kick out. Andrade goes to the floor to take it to Ford who he sends into the apron. Andrade now helps Garza who is taking it to Dawkins in the corner. Andrade now works the arm of Dawkins on the ropes. Dawkins fights off Garza with a right. He then catches Andrade and launches him.
Dawkins comes off the ropes and takes down Garza with a back elbow. He then hits Andrade with a splash. He then hits Andrade with the bulldog but the pin is broken up. Andrade hits a kick in the corner. Garza sets him up and Andrade lays him out. He goes for the cover but Ford breaks it up with a big splash. Ford fights back and hits a blockbuster. The lights then start to flicker. Garza then gets Demi out of ringside. He comes Retribution now who surrounds the ring. They get in the ring and go after Ford, Dawkins, and Andrade. They then go after Vega who tries to fight them off but instead is sent into the barricade. They beat all three of them down and then run away.
Winners: No Contest
My Opinion:
This was a great showing for Andrade and Garza and who really dominated a lot of this match. They showed how well they could work together as a team and I wonder where this has been when they have had the opportunities at the titles. Dawkins and Ford seemed to be a little off tonight but they still were impressive. I love their quick style in the ring and you never know what they will do next like that spoolash to break up the pin. As Retribution :’m glad we saw them again tonight as we have to see them more if they are going to continue to make an impact. I’m still worried their reveal won’t be as exciting as it’s set up to be but it will all depend who is in this group.
Backstage Segment: Adam Pearce
Adam Pearce yells at the security and tells them to get to their post and do their job.
Raw Underground Part 2: Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir
Shane welcomes Peyton Royce and Billie Kay after their devastating loss earlier. Jessamyn Duke starts off her match and destroys her opponent quickly. She then sends her out of the ring. Marina Shafir then jumps in and takes on an opponent of her own. She gets her in a submission and makes her tap. Jessamyn and Marina then celebrate together. Royce then sends Kay into the ring. Kay gets knocked out in a second and is down.
My Opinion:
I really hope we see more from these two in the future. I’m not sure why they don’t get used more as I really think both Marina and Jessamyn could be very useful in either NXT or on Raw/SmackDown. What they do there is very believable and they look like fighters. They obviously have that MMA background and use it well. Hopefully more good showings there will lead them to be ankle to team up and go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships or at least full time join Shayna on Raw.
Backstage Segment: Apollo Crews & Ricochet & Cedric Alexander
Ricochet and Cedric tell Apollo to go in there and handle his business. Apollo says he knows he has to. Charly asks Apollo if he thinks it’s a wise idea to go into Raw Underground after this rough 24 hours. Apollo says this is a new him and he is here to go and in there and fight and show what he is made of. Ricochet says they have his back and are ready to go in and fight. Apollo tells the security to let them in there as he fights Benjamin, next!
Raw Underground Part 3: Apollo Crews & Shelton Benjamin
Apollo gets himself ready as the Hurt Business arrives. Benjamin jumps in and the fight is underway. The tow lock up and neither gets a big advantage. Apollo takes him to the mat and is able to stay on him. He continues to beat him with shots to the face and body. Apollo works the arm and gets Benjamin into a submission. The two then fight to the floor and the fight is underway between the two teams. This then spills back into the ring. The Hurt Business takes over and is on top. Shane calls it after they lay out all three men.
My Opinion:
Once again the Hurt Business reign supreme and show they are one of the most dominant factions in WWE. Every time they are in Raw Underground they show out and I really think it does a good job at showing exactly what they can do and what they are about. I’m sure we will see more of this in the future. As for Cedric, Apollo, and Ricochet they gotta keep fighting and taking advantage of whatever opportunities that they get. It’s not easy because they aren’t being yup to go over but hopefully soon they will get a rise to the top.
Backstage Segment: Angel Garza & Demi Burnett
Garza tells Demi that everything will be okay. Garza pleads to her that he didn’t abandon anyone. He tells her they are trained fighters and he was just trying to protect her. Retribution then breaks through the door continuing their attack. Garza then runs away and leaves Demi. Luckily, Demi is also able to get away.

The match begins and Orton rolls to the outside. Orton tells Rollins he’s got this one. Rollins yells at Orton for telling him that they were going to work together. Rollins then confronts Orton on the outside. Lee then pulls Rollins back into the ring by the hair. He then takes it to Rollins and turns him inside out. Orton tries to take advantage but he is fought off. Rollins and Orton work together to get Lee to the apron. Lee comes back into the ring and flattens them both as Raw goes to break.
As Raw returns, Lee tries to jump in the ring after fighting off Rollins but instead Rollins hits him with a kick. On the floor now Lee knocks down Rollins. Orton comes from behind and drives Lee into the announce desk. Rollins and Orton continue to work together and send Lee into the steel steps. Lee gets to the apron and hits Rollins with a big forearm. He now hits a series of shoulder tackles and splashes as he takes it to Rollins and Orton. He then throws Rollins into Orton. The two try to get away but Lee doesn’t allow it. He trunks over Orton and sends him flying on the floor. He then catches Rollins and tosses him off the announce desk. Back in the ring, Rollins fights back with a kick he then gets caught by Lee. Rollins turns it into a cover but Lee kicks out. Rollins finally gets Lee down and looks for the Stomp. Lee catches Rollins again and hits him with a Spirit Bomb. Orton comes out of nowhere and hits Lee with the RKO. Orton rolls Lee out of the ring and then pins Rollins for the 1 2 3.
Winner: Randy Orton: #1 Contender For the WWE Championship at Clash Of Champions
My Opinion:
A very amazing showing from Keith Lee tonight! I was so impressed with him and I’m glad he got to show exactly what he can do in the ring. Lee has all the tools to be the guy on Raw but for now he has to just keep fighting his way to the top. I am excited to see who he will face next as you know it will be very entertaining! For Rollins, he had a good showing as always and he will continue to be a staple on Raw for now but with a baby on the way I’m sure he will be going away for a while in the distant future. Orton taking on McIntyre again sounds good to me as you know they will once again deliver. It should be interesting to see how they build this one up ass last time it got so personal. I can’t wait to see this pick up next week!
Final Thoughts:
I enjoyed tonight as we saw a lot of meaningful matches. Although it wasn’t the craziest night ever we got to see some pretty awesome things from people like Keith Lee, Dominik Mysterio, the Hurt Business. First, I loved that main event tonight. Keith is amazing in my eyes and I can’t wait to see his rise on Raw. This was a tough loss tonight but he wasn’t pinned as you would expect and now he will be on to destroying some more opponents and showing why he is Limitless. Randy Orton got that big win and I cannot wait to see how personal things get now in this latest match built up with Drew McIntyre!
I loved what we saw from the Hurt Business this week as they dominated everyone who stood in their way. They look so good in the ring and constantly show how dominating they can be. I believe in them as characters and I’m excited for all that they do including in Raw underground. For Raw Underground, it wasn’t bad this week. Everyone we saw compete in it put on a good showing and it was as hard hitting as we can expect it to be. It hasn’t blown my mind but I’m excited for it each week to see what they do next. Finally, I’m loving what I’m seeing from Dominik Mysterio. You can tell he is going out there and truly giving his all. I’m proud of him for his hard work paying off and I can’t wait to see more of him. Overall there is a lot to look forward to on Raw going forward. I hope everyone stays safe and healthy this week and enjoys NXT This Tuesday, and SmackDown on Friday!!!
Overall Rating: 5/10
