The past Sunday we saw the No Mercy PPV in which we saw two B+ rated matches. Rollins and Ambrose faced Sheamus and Cesaro in a fantastic tag match, however during the match Cesaro did suffer a month injury which resulted in him needing two new front teeth. Cena and Reigns also put on a great match which was a lot better than a lot of people thought. The entire point in the match was for Cena to officially ‘pass the torch’ to Reigns. Cena had teased that he has now retired from wrestling although as far as I know the plan is still for Cena to be the one to defeat Mahal for the title at the Rumble when he will return to SDLive, however I was informed of this 3 weeks ago. Lesnar and Braun’s match left many fans disappointed after they teased a hectic match between them both when in reality it felt like quite a boring short match. Lesnar isn’t scheduled to fight again until the Royal Rumble however he is advertised for an episode of Raw in November, which is two weeks before survivor series.
No Mercy Ratings
Cena vs Reigns = B+
Ambrose and Rollins vs Sheamus and Cesaro = B+
Balor vs Wyatt = C
Lesnar vs Braun = C
Fatal 5 way women’s match = C
The night after No Mercy, Bullet club decided to ‘invade’ Raw. In reality they basically protested outside the arena after in a ‘Being The Elite’ storyline Hangman Page was kidnapped by WWE and was forced to watch the entire hour of 205Live! However Cody was also campaigning to be allowed to use the name ‘Rhodes’ again which is absolutely ridiculous that WWE won’t let him use it considering it was Dusty who started to use it when he wasn’t even in WWE, as well as with how much Dusty did for the company. Reportedly Vince is furious with all of this happening and coincidentally the night after the Bucks received a letter demanding they stop using the ‘Too Sweet’ in any wrestling event again or face being sued 150k! This is honestly the craziest thing I have ever heard.
NJPW had their latest big show called Destruction this past Saturday, the main event of which was Kenny Omega vs Juice Robinson for the IWGP US Championship. Kenny and Juice put on a fantastic match which was better than their G1 encounter. Omega will defend the championship next against Yoshi-Hashi at Global Wars Chicago on October 15th.
Match Rating: A-
Other news:
-Paige is almost ready for a return
-Asuka will debut at TLC
-Undertaker ever fighting again is now extremely unlikely
-Vince reportedly didn’t know who was going to win between Braun and Lesnar until hours before the show
-Technically most of the cruiserweight’s can’t face Enzo because they attacked him on Raw and I have been told WWE are very close to singing Rey Mysterio and this part is just a prediction but who knows he could be Enzo’s first and last challenger.
