WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 Predictions
Hello Misfits! This is The Wrestling Classic here with my predictions for this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber. It’s one of the two stops on the road to Wrestlemania. This stop includes men and women entering the Elimination Chamber to have the opportunity to walk into Wrestlemania as a champion. The WWE Championship will be defended in a chamber match as Daniel Bryan faces off against of five of Smackdown Live’s top stars. The women enter the Elimination Chamber for the second time but history is still being made as the first ever tag team women’s champion of the modern era are being crowned and its is the first ever time the women will be stepping into the chamber in teams. Other than the two chamber matches, there are a ton of other scores to be settled and championship’s being defended. I’m also sure we’ll get be getting more of the angle between Becky Lynch and the authority. However, I can’t write about that in my predictions and you’re gonna have to listen to my Squared Circle DNA podcast for my thoughts on that. As for now, let’s get to my predictions.
Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship
Shane McMahon & The Miz (C) vs. The Usos

Last Month at the Royal Rumble, Shane McMahon and The Miz became the Smackdown Live tag team champions by defeating The Bar. It wasn’t shocking considering how they were building the team and friendship between Shane O’ and Mizanin but it was shocking that it was against such dominant tag team in The Bar. At this event we see Shane McMahon and The Miz face off against another really talented team in the former five time tag team champions The Usos. I would love to see The Usos become the tag team champions again but I believe that the two “Best in the World” trophy winners retain in their first title defence before ultimately losing the belts and feuding with each other. I hate to see another great team lose to a strange bedfellow’s team but The Usos are at a level where a loss doesn’t hurt them. Shane and Miz go one more PPV as tag team champions…or maybe they go all the way to Wrestlemania..who knows?
Prediction – Shane McMahon & The Miz
Braun Strowman vs. Baron CorbinĀ

At this point, both of these guys don’t feel that important and neither does this feud. I mean Baron Corbin hasn’t been interesting ever really and Braun Strowman seems to have lost a lot of that momentum and hype he had all of 2017 and 2018. I definitely dont see any purpose of Baron Corbin winning this unless they have some big plans for him going into Mania. Although, even if they did have big plans for him, I don’t know if I would care. I do care about the “Monster Among Men” regaining his momentum to start feeling important again. Therefore, Strowman picks up the big win.
Prediction – Braun Strowman
Cruiserweight Championship
Buddy Murphy (C) vs. Akira Tozawa

Its 205 Live’s juggernaut Buddy Murphy defending his Cruiserweight Championship againstĀ former champion Akira Tozawa. As much as Tozawa is a formidable opponent, I just dont see him as the guy to knock off Murphy to become the next champion. I mean Tozawa surprised us when he defeated the “King of Cruiserweight’s ” Neville unexpectedly, so anything is possible. However, I say Murphy continues to be the unstoppable champion until Wrestlemania.
Prediction – Buddy Murphy
Raw Women’s Championship
Ronda Rousey (C) vs. Ruby Riott

I don’t think anyone really believes that Ronda Rousey is going to lose her first match before Wrestlemania, let alone lose the Women’s Championship before Wrestlemania leading her not to be in the main event. I do think Ruby Riott facing off against her is a compelling enough match but the it was not hard to predict the finish. What really makes this match more interesting is all the drama surrounding Ronda Rousey and her two foes who are ambitious to face her at Wrestlemania in Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Vince McMahon has suspended the Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch and replaced her with Charlotte Flair as the person who will be facing Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania. Charlotte Flair said she’ll be front row for this match and even teased on costing Ronda the match. However, will Becky Lynch show up against the authority’s demands to claim her place in the Wrestlemania main event? Will Charlotte try to screw Rousey out of the championship? That what this match is really about. Regardless, Ronda walks out victorious and still champion.
Prediction – Ronda Rousey
Intercontinental Championship
Triple Threat
Bobby Lashley (C) & Lio Rush vs. Finn Balor

Finn Balor for a second month in a row has to try defeat the odds as he faces off against Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush in a handicap match to try to win the Intercontinental Championship. I really would love to see Finn Balor as our IC champion but I am enjoying “The Mighty” Bobby Lashley as the champion. I feel like its the first time we’ve finally seen Lashley in an important position since his feud with Roman Reigns last Summer. I feel like him winning the title not so long ago and losing it so soon doesn’t help him at all. I do see Finn Balor becoming the Intercontinental Champion but maybe next month or ideally at Wrestlemania. It would be a happy moment to see Finn defeat the odds here and become the champion. I also feel like that will most likely be the case but as of right now I am going to go with Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush cheating to find a way to keep the belt on Lashley.
Prediction – Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush
WWE Championship
Elimination Chamber
Daniel Byran (C) vs. AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe vs. Kofi Kingston

Its the return of the Elimination Chamber and this time Daniel Bryan defends his WWE Championship against 5 of the best Smackdown Live has to offer. Unfortunately for Mustafa Ali, who was originally in this match was replaced by Kofi Kingston due to suffering multiple lingering injuries. I was really looking forward to see how he would try to capitalize on his opportunity in this match. Kofi Kingston is a strong choice for a replacement and really someone us wrestling fans take for granted as a singles performer since we’re all so use to him being a part of The New Day. The other competitors in the match are Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out and how guys get eliminated. It’ll also be interesting to see if any of the interactions in this match lead to potential Wrestlemania feuds and matches. In the end though, I see Daniel Bryan escaping the chamber still the WWE Champion. It would be ridiculous for WWE to introduce this new belt for “The New” Daniel Bryan only for him to lose it weeks later. I see “The New” Daniel Bryan continuing his reign, making the fans feel like hypocrites and being as annoying as possible all the way until Wrestlemania.
Prediction – Daniel Bryan
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
Elimination Chamber
Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Nia Jax & Tamina vs. The IIconics vs. Carmella & Naomi vs. Mandy Sacs & Sonya Deville vs. Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan

OH ITS TIME! Finally the women’s tag team titles are here. Its been something I have been asking for since I started my page and I saw the women’s roster get bigger and bigger. Especially prior to the 2016 draft when it felt like there were a plethora of women and only one title to chase after. The first women’s tag team champions won’t be introduced through a tournament or series of matches but instead in the unforgiving Elimination Chamber. Last year, we witnessed the women step into the chamber for the first time which was history and this year they make history again as its the first time the women step into the chamber in teams. The teams participating are all strong choices for predictions. Lets break it down.
Fabulous Glow is the team of Naomi and Carmella, who are two former Smackdown Women’s champion and although having teamed for the least amount of time, the benefit there is that people have no idea what to expect from them. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville are as close as ever and we’ve them do whatever it takes to pick up a victory. The IIconics are two peas in a pod and one of the legitimate teams in the division. Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan of the Riott Squad have been proven to be one of the most cohesive and dangerous pairings in the division. Nia Jax and Tamina are a force to be reckoned with and you must wonder if any two women can overcome their power and size. The Boss N Hug Connection, Sasha Banks and Bayley are two of the best in ring performers and go together like peanut butter and jelly.
However, each team has their flaws as well. Naomi and Mella dont have that much experience as a team and that could be their downfall. The IIconics really haven’t taken anything seriously which could cause them from winning. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville have had moments in the past few months where they didn’t see eye-to-eye. Liv and Sarah have been known to get lost in enjoyment in beating up their opponents to the point where it causes them the win. Nia and Tamina might have to deal with the teams working together to get rid of them. Also, lets be honest Sahsa Banks and Bayley have fought with each other just as much as they have worked as a team. Its no secret that they clash sometimes and really fall under that old cliche of “best friends but better enemies.”
In the end I really do see Sasha Banks and Bayley coming out on top here. I would love to see a team like Riott Squad get this moment since they really deserve it considering how consistently good they have been and made their gimmick as a group work. I could even see them using the “freebird/new day” rule as champions. My biggest fear which could come true is Nia Jax and Tamina winning as WWE loves to push Nia and would love to swerve us that way. I mean Sasha Banks and Bayley finally winning the tag team titles at Wrestlemania would really be great moment and be just as memorable as them being the first champions. I would be fine with any team in this match other than Nia and Tamina winning. However, my gut is saying go with Sasha Banks and Bayley winning. It would make sense why they kept them as a team after teasing a break up all of 2018.
Prediction – Sasha Banks & Bayley
